Hello and good day to everyone. ^.^

Just another newbie question here. I've read somewhere that pinging is "THE SAME" with submitting your rss feed to feed directories. is this true?

If it is, that would mean that you don't have to submit your feed if you already pinged and vise versa.

if it isn't true then, how often do you submit rss feeds? what's the ideal way to handle this?

And lastly, there are loads of pinging services, how many are you using? I mean, one pinging does it? or do you have to ping to each and everyone of them.

sorry for the pure noob questions...
thanks fort he kind answers! ^.^

Check out this infographic on our site. It's has some things specific to what we do, but goes over the process of why you do each step:

You build RSS feeds to collect your links into groups. You ping RSS feeds and links so they get crawled. Since your goal is to get crawled, pinging a hundred services won't get you any more benefit than pinging two or three or even one (if it gets you crawled).
