Hello,it was disaster for me when my site lost significant traffic and sales with spammy links build by the competitor. I almost lost 80% traffic and about 8k/month income since last week. I disowed all the domains from where the spammy links are coming from a week ago. Recommend something pros to rectify the damage.Thanks

It is not always negative seo that may be the problem, though it happens to be the first concern that we come up with.

Disavow won't help you, getting as many links removed as possible will.
Services like LinkDelete.com can help you with this process, otherwise you can hire people on odesk or elance to do it for you. If you are serious about keeping your domain and recovering that's your only option. Otherwise move on.

Disavow is the dead-end. It won't help, but will keep things going worse - disavowed links will hurt more websites if someone will do negative SEO for it.
Think about new domain. In SEO business you should always have 2-3 "backup" sites.

Did the site receive any manual penalty or is the drop in traffic a consequence of an algorithmic penalty?
I would keep disavowing the negative links as they come and build better links from authority sites. If there's a manual action message in your WMT account, submit a reconsideration request.

Disavowing links if a manual penalty is triggered will not help you. Link removals need to occur before a reconsideration request is filed. A lack of removals can jeopardize any type of successful request and could potentially cause permanent penalties.
There's little to no evidence of disavow helping anyone, spend some time on google's webmaster forums and you'll see that.

OP all you can do is disavow the links like you already did and send In for a reconsideration request. Since this site was obviously a money Maker and not just a churn and burn site I would recommend fighting
to bring it back to its original glory.
If you can get the penalty removed then load a massive amount of content to the site and look for some high powered press releases to get you back On track. I know it sucks but you will get back in the game soon!
