Looks like Youtube has declared war on adblockers

What you are forgetting that fresh content can’t exist without some form of revenue being generated to keep it flowing. How you you suppose people run platforms, if they have zero income to pay for it?

It’s like shoplifting from your local store, sooner or later, if everyone is doing it, the shop keeper has no revenue and the business and can’t keep going.

In fact it’s the only reason you have the ability to post herein BHW, because advertising keeps the forum existing
maybe try to find a way to run platform without depending on such invasive and annoying revenue source

I know there is a app which can bypass all ads on yt. anyone know the app name?

BHW got ads? Damn, I guess we learn something new everyday.

Why not put that proposition to BHW then? It survives via quite invasive advertising income as well

Here's the position, advertising-supported platforms on the internet, offer this as a means for tight-arses (who don't want to pay for anything they consume) to still enjoy content, without having to pay a penny.

However tight arses, being tight arses, still aren't happy with getting something free - they want to get it free.... and additionally, completely starve the content producers of any source of income for the work they do.

Without advertising supported channels, there would be no free services/content or whatever. You'd have nothing to read or browse. Just be content you can get to consume content, without having to pay for it.

You're probably young. I was born long before the advent of the internet. When it arrived, you had to pay to access almost every site. Think yourself lucky there is so much free stuff around these days

Then put it behind the paywall and i will simply stop using it and i wont mind. I will use what i can, i will pay for what i want and what is necessary only.

Most platforms dont use paywalls because they know for a fact that even free users and adblock users still contribute to platforms success. Youtube usage would be cut in half if not more if they were pay only service and they dont want that.

Regarding bhw, ads here suck too, but adblockers quickly adapt to their changes all the time so i dont really care what bhw does.

Tight arse.. Light arse... Whatever

Put it behind a pay wall and stop complaining. I have never seen enough value in youtube to pay for anything on it.
So I'm gone when the adblocker stops working.

My content is behind a paywall. When someone wants to see a video they have to pay for it.
The free stuff that I'll give away are a blog on the sites and perhaps a forum. But the videos have to be purchased.

I use youtube premium so it's good for me and for abdblocker i have ublock origin which works well for all websites but dont know for youtube.

I think YT has excellent content, from incredible documentaries, to talks, lectures, informational videos, films, news items...everything!

I find it good value and its why I pay the premium membership. (yes, to avoid the annoying ads)

So despite millions of hours of fantastic content, you have never found anything of value on it? lol

I am not sure what you are looking to find on it.

I come from an era when you had to use dial-up to even access the internet, at 4p a minute! (bills were eye-watering) So look on the bright side, you don't know you're living today...honestly! lol

I use Ublock Origin. When the pop-up appears, hitting the 'X' button for it is enough to close it for the rest of the video.

They'll most likely get more aggressive about it over time, though.

I'm normally fine with ads, although YouTube often takes it too far; I don't want to watch a minute of unskippable ads to watch a 15 second video.

I just have an extreme dislike to the double dip. First dip, is receiving ads revenue from YT for ads played by YT on their video. Second dip is receiving ads revenue by adding ads as part of their videos. Do not bum fuck twice. Pick just one method!

Honestly,
I've never given a rat's ass about Ted Talks or similar crap. The documentaries, news, etc. I stopped watching that stuff 10 years ago because all bullshit.

The only thing I watch on youtube are old movies and shows. But I can live without Cary Grant and Bogart.

There are still several extensions that work,
but I use the premium because I like its premium features

It is affecting their business. If they face huge loss because of these ad blockers, it is obvious that they will take these steps.

Just step up your game get premium
It's the best resource on the internet. Don't complain.

Perhaps you can step up your game and take the 15 seconds to at least read the 1st post.

I've already said that I don't see anything on youtube that's worth paying for.

To me Youtube is mostly unsophisticated entertainment for unsophisticated minds and propaganda/brainwashing.

I can find ad free movies from the 1930S /40s elsewhere on the Internet. Because, that's all I watch on Youtube.

is not affecting all add blockers, I there is once add blockers that developers made a video explaining how to makle some changes and avoid add blockers restrictions on youtube lol, Ublock Origin is the name of the add blocker never used it before so is not a recomendation if you can research more before use it perfect, but seems they being updating and someone said that Brave add blocker is also working fine those are other two options to test.

took them long enough, adblockers have been widely used and around for ages. personally, I think it's a fair deal and a common practice these days.
