I'm looking to setup a focus group to help keep each other motivated and to bounce ideas off each other and stuff.

I was thinking we could have a channel on IRC (blackhatworld.com) to meet and discuss.

Anyone else up for this?

If you are interested post a reply one here and we will sort something out...

Is it going to be about building websites, adsense, affiliate marketing, and SEO? If so, I'm in.

It's going to be about making money online or offline. That includes building websites, adsense, affiliate marketing, and SEO but is not confined to that. It can be any method that makes money.

Including offline will make it too broad. Including any online method that makes money will make it too broad too.

You don't want to end up giving and getting advice from people who are clueless about offline marketing or a certain method and wasting each other's time.

Better to choose a method you are interested in implementing/learning/scaling-up and start a focus (mastermind) group on that with like minded people who are serious about the same.

OK here's my thoughts...

A group of people who meet up regularly to find out how you have spent your time and to motivate you to keep going or do better. If people want to bounce around ideas then that would be great but that's not really the purpose, I just want some like minded guys to chat as a small group and spur each other on.

Anyway, if you are interested then join the blackhatworld.com server on IRC as usual and then join the channel #Focus_Group. I will lock it up at about 6-10 people.

spot on.

might be a question of creating several niche groups that specifically address a single area of interest. also like thye idea of working with peolpe whom youre accountable to for completing tasks youve said you'll start and finish, otherwise its very easy to drift when working alone. also a bit of an inspiring eye opener to see how fast some people can accomplish a task that's perhaps taking you 2 or 3 x 1/2 days compared to somebody else only taking 1 or 2 x 1/2 hours....

I think it should cover a specific topic and stick to that..once can be adsence once can be some other method, offline etc...

They keyword to a focus group is FOCUS....

Also the people who are passing themselves off as experts better be ready to show some proof... I think it is a good idea but I dont need a newb telling me (another newb) about methods they are not actually successful with.

Anyway I am in if the topic is linkbuilding, ranking your sites, on page SEO and offline methods...

Damn..ya'll reading my mind!!

Just earlier today I had the thought about starting a thread for anyone who isn't making money to form like a 'support group', so we could all keep each other motivated and moving forward and then I come to the "lounge" here on BHW and whatdoyou...I see this thread!

I'm in..

Only thing is I have no clue on how to use IRC...guess I can "Google it" and see what I find out!
