Be careful when trying to promote any Clickbank products on Google Adwords. Google has a real hate on for Clickbank and I myself have been stung twice. If you're going to try this then be sure not to direct link. Rather send them to your site which in and of itself is a quality site that Google has blessed.

I suggest setting up the site and running Adwords ppc clicks to it prior to adding the CB product. Once you are blessed by Google and getting some traffic from them, then you can try adding some kind of review or recommendation (presale piece) to your site that has your affiliate link to the CB product.

Then DO NOT send traffic directly to that pre-sales page as Google will come back to your site and if that's the first page they land on... you're beat.

Rather send traffic to your relevant & compelling pages that deliver good content and which help set the stage for your pre-sales page which is referenced on those pages, or on banners on your page or via some other link. Key is to establish a customer funnel that get the visitors from your content pages to your pre-sales page and then over to the CB offer.

Once you get the traffic coming, you can always improve your funnel by testing different linking methods (ways to get people to the pre-sales page) and by capturing names and then emailing them recommendations for the CB product.

Key to protect against the SLAP is to ensure that your visitors get top quality, valuable & unique content from your site without having to leave it.

If you keep that philosophy in mind you should make out ok with Adwords but I still can't guarantee anything as I find that the rules change often (and they won't share the rules with you in the first place) and often one reviewer may like your site while another may be having a bad day and decide to slap you.

    Best of luck!

I'm not quite sure here - how comes there are some affiliates promoting the same clickbank products through a direct link for years?

I hope somebody can explain that.

I just got banned from Adwords and I dont even use it to promote any clickbank. In their email they referred to a CB product I've never promoted or even put my nickname on. Point is, if they are going to take the trouble of lying about why they ban and using CB as an excuse, its looking very very bad for folk actually doing CB marketing with Adwords.

By the way, I know exactly why I probably got banned, I made a calculate mistake and didn't get away with it. Whats surprising is why Adwords prefer to suggest it has something to do with nothing that I've actually done. Its like they're taking the opportunity to piss on their own reputation and denounce CB whenever they can. I've just read another forum and they seem to have a whole raft of Adwords anti CB action. Oh well, you know what they say, power corrupts and absolute power has corrupted absolutely...

One more interesting point. I suppose this has nothing to do with Big Gs own results with affiliate marketing. I wonder how well that's competing,, or not...

PEBAL has parted some valuable words of wisdom. The first time I tried promoting clickbank I had read some stories about people getting the ban hammer from G for direct linking while others didn't so i thought i'd give it a shot. Long story short, I got banned. Their excuse was the site i was linking to displayed "pop-ups" which there were none. So do what PEBAL recommended and you'll reduce that probably greatly.

I used to use $100 google campaign ad cards for promoting cb products. They all went to waste in 2-3 days with no sales. I direct linked it though :/...

Anything with a gravity higher than 50 is worth testing.

I have given up using adwords for affiliate programs after having 3 accounts banned by G. Have used adwords to promote CB as well as CJ links, and even though I had created mini sites and direct traffic there, I still got banned after running for a week.

The only thing that is working now with adwords is to direct traffic to my main WH ecommerce site that have affiliate banners. No conversion from the banners so far.

I wouldnt bother, my google adwords account has been permanently suspended for repeated violation of landing page and site policies from promoting CB products and I am still trying to get my remaining funds back out of my account.

Try promoting in microsoft ad center they dont seem to care who you link to in my experience...

Always promote products with High gravity while doing ad word. But of course that competition will be lots more.
