Looking to hire someone to help with SEO

So far I have a really nice site, with a nice forum, and a lot of articles, but I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to getting ranked in keywords, what keywords I should have my articles based on, and things of that nature.

I'm looking to hire someone that can help me with this. Not looking to hire someone to do seo for me because I see threads for that everywhere.

Looking for someone that can help me to learn the best way of going about picking a keyword, or keywords for future articles that I want to rank with google.
This probably sounds like something so easy, but I have no idea what I'm doing and I don't wan't to waste my money purchasing more articles/seo.
