Personally, I believe posting RELEVANT content on a regular basis and also maintaining the engagement with other people's content in your relevant niche/industry is much needed to build some strong followers base.

This is honestly a great tactic and somehow still underrated. Probably because it's so dead obvious people overlook it.

Comment something funny on big celebrety or big persons post, not agreeing their post.

Hi,
it was a simple subtweet. But there are a series of factors, which I can't necessarily explain publicly here, that made it catch on.
You don't have to troll for trolling's sake, you have to hit where it hurts a lot.

It worked because I do it, after all, quite rarely. Nobody expected it, starting with me. To tell you the truth, I saw how silly the guy was, I must have been more tired than usual, I didn't think about it, I slammed him.
