Looking to become an Instagram influencer

Im starting from scratch here. I am 20 years old and in college and going to get my MBA so I have 3 more years of college left. By that time I'm hoping to have 100k followers on Instagram.

Little backstory: when I was about 13 I had a twitter parody account and had some tweets go viral and paid a couple decently large twitter accounts to retweet my tweets. I ended up with like 10k followers in not too long of time.

So I know its easier said than done but I am committed and think I could do it.

Ive been reading posts about how if you have 100k followers on Instagram you can make about $1k per post. Basically you can make a living off the account between promotions for products, shoutouts, and if you sell your own merchandise to your followers.

My question is I went on socialtradia.com and I see people selling accounts with over 100k followers for like $2k. If you can make $1000 per post how is this value even anywhere close to accurate? Are the accounts fake? I don't think so I didn't some research on the website it seems pretty legit.

Depends on what you’re promoting. I doubt you’d be able to make those sums daily with a humour account.

no I wouldn't be doing a humor account. But take a look at the accounts on the website. They are fitness, cooking, etc and still undervalued it looks like

Just checked the site out. Looks extremely fake to me man.
Check out some of the accounts they are selling have their usernames in the title, looks like extreme bulls*it to me.

I actually noticed that too! You're probably right, thanks. Anyway, I'm not sure how familiar you are with Instagram influencers, but do you believe its true if you have 100k Insta followers with say a 3% follower engagement on a page about fitness, you can post promotions for about $1,000 + a post. If so (I've seen on almost every where I looked that its true) why isn't this a more common lifestyle. say it even took me 5 years of hard work to build that many followers. Imagine making a living posting twice a day on Instagram and just building your account for a few hours everyday on ur phone. And a pretty good living at that!

Yeah, I do believe it can happen.

And yes again, that is why everyone is freaking out with IG, and every hoe wants to be famous man. Because they want to make money. It’s been around some time.

If you have the nerves to build an account for 2 years, I am 100% sure you can make it!
Just make sure to post quality content daily!

Thanks! theres just one thing that makes me think I can't do it. I am not a male model I'm not like posting instagrams of myself traveling and all that. I am planning on making an account on a certain niche I am interested in and gaining a big follower base around that. I hope that is not virtually impossible without putting a face to my Instagram name.
