Hello all, I am brainstorming some ideas on creating a niche file hosting website, specifically for videos that users would be able to post on a third party site that only allows HTML5 video, so Youtube embeds isn't an option.
I am planning on just using wordpress as that's what I know and am comfortable with. What are the best (And preferably cheap) membership type plugins for wordpress that allow for file uploading? I would also likely need a plugin or a way to compress the videos to keep bandwidth / server use low.
Also curious on the security with wordpress / and user uploaded files. Would using a cloud service help keep everything secure enough?
Also likely looking to see what webhosting options are out there for this, as it seems some of the VPS sites I've been looking for might not be a good fit...
I have a few places already in mind on where to advertise as it's a niche with likely some demand.
