I am looking to hire someone to seo my site. My site is new and I want to rank for a few keywords. The main one I want to rank for is "funny shirts" which has a competition of 919,000 and 21,100 when searching pages from Australia only. I am mainly targeting google.com.au searches. I want to rank as high as possible but being in the top 10 for google.com.au is a must. Also must be as white hat as possible as I can not afford to have my site banned. I am willing to pay good money for a quality job. Anyone interested please let me know.

Tops about 10,000 searches a month for funny shirts
But how many from Australia ??????
Real competition for funny shirts in Australia alone about 546 (not a lot at all)
But how many people in Australia use the search function to search just in Australia for funny shirts
Not very many i would think so SEO just for Australia could be a big mistake
I just did a site for a guy that wanted a UK search on yahoo for one keyword/phrase on google it was showing 15500 hits a month
I got him his number one on page for yahoo in the UK on a UK search for that keyword/phrase how many hits dose he get all about 20/30 a month
So make sure if you go for a google.com.au the traffic is there before you build the site
Cos i don't think the traffic is there in Australia alone to make this worth your time or money as a main keyword phrase

Thanks for your reply. You make a good point. Where are you getting 10 000 searches from? On the google keyword tool it shows 18000 searches a month from australia only and there is a few related keywords which show a little bit of traffic. In the USA these is 246 000 searches a month shown in google keyword tool. I would love to rank in the top 10 for google.com but would this even be possible for me considering the big sites like tshirt hell?

Why would you be looking at google keyword tool? What is google really a search engine or a marketing machine its so much in there interest to over inflate the search numbers. (And add some words for you to bid on adwords good name fits a treat) I got my data from a tool that pulls from wordtracker but not direct from word tracker
