I am looking for some serous advice about offshore hosting pros. and cons.
I am from the UK and I run and number of sites for myself and clients ranging from adult sites to free speech sites.
I am looking for professional experienced advice so please don?t say google it as this will be my first time using an offshore hosting company and we know how many adverts are out there saying how great they all are, it is very difficult to choose something like this when you plan a very long term armament.
In the past I have had issues with privacy with registrars asking for my real personal details and proof witch I do not wish to give especially now the UK laws have changed a lot since I started many years ago.
I normally don?t advise anyone to put all their eggs into one basket but for me this is an option I am willing to take for my client?s protection and mine.
My adult sites are always above bored, clean and professional plus I do not run wares sites and there is no intent on law breaking but for me it?s a lot to do with piracy laws like the classic WHIOS for people trying to get my real information and also copyright issues. I know about paying extra for whois protection but that has never been a 100% protection against hackers and the like, using fake names and addresses use to work but they have caught on to that now to.
I stay well away from .uk .co.uk and anything with UK in the domain names because of the new laws asking for paper work and identification of me who I would always like to stay Anonymous to an extent where someone can?t find who is running my clients web sites and vps and so on.
So I?m looking for experienced advice from someone who knows and has good knowledge of these such things.
Money is no object as you get what you pay for, trust me I found out many times the hard way but I am looking for a good reputable offshore company that has no problems with adult content with a stable system with 99% up time and reliable, very reliable server connection to the UK, I will have a lot of sites witch cannot have down time, don?t we all.
So the best of the best would be a great ask of you professionals out there who have had good experience and understanding with these companies as my aim is very long term so I want solid and secure servers.
So far I have been using hostwinds and they are great I have to say and they do not have problems with adult content, so far they seem to be the best choice for me but I just wanted to through out there this question to see if I should go for it or just stay as I am?
Registrar?s can be a pain these days witch is one of the reasons I am asking around for better alternatives, is it worth changing my methods of approach in these matters of are there even better company?s out there I don?t know about yet?
