looking for some experienced seo advice. Please help !!!

I have a 3 year old affiliate website (50 page unique content wordpress blog) in travel niche and I have been trying to rank it through white had methods like 3 way link exchange, article submissions, manual blog commenting etc. I have compared my backlinks count with the top 10 ranking sites using magestic seo and linkscape and my website is showing better than many of them in number of external links, unique IP links, unique c class IP links etc. In spite of that I am ranking 195 in google US for my main keyword(this is where the main traffic is). I have significant percentage of my backlinks with the main keyword as anchor text. I would have thought that this might be some site penalty but I am ranking well (top 10-20) for some secondary low traffic keywords in google US. I would have thought it is a keyword specific penalty but I am ranking 20 for the same main keyword in google Australia and some other regions. I have analysed the IP addresses of my backlinks and they are not biased towards any particular region. Can anyone shed some light on this on what I should do. I feel like I have reached a dead end. I know I can keep building links but it will be great I can get some direction on this. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I can thank in many ways like thanks button, some good PR backlinks, or some backlinks blasts.

Sounds like you are in need of some high quality backlinks. Sheer number is not always going to win over someone with high quality backlinks (as many have said quality >> quantity).

I would look into a private blog network such as Mr. E's to get you some better quality backlinks.

High quality links will make a difference. Link exchanges, blog comments and articles are not the most powerful links even if you have a lot from different IPs. You want in context links on relevant pages from high PR sites. MrE's service is great and you might want to try out BuildMyRank. I've seen great results with both.

your asking for expert seo advice even when your location shows a link to an seo site? .. isn't this a fail?

Secondly, without seeing the site in question, how do we know how well the site is structured and if the quality of content is sufficiently good to impress the panda ..

give us some more clues and I'm sure there would be plenty of people willing to point you in the right direction ..

You should start with optimizing your page ( making it "searchengine friendly" ) around your keyword before you start any linkbuilding. An optimized page is the key to a successful internet business

Quality links. Look into building your own blog network if you can. The thing is relevant high quality links is the most important thing. So if you have your own blog network of say 50 sites "Related to your niche" with 1000's of links pointing to these niche related websites and when these websites link to your website the results would be spectacular.

Also you dint mention anywhere about Onpage SEO and Keyword in URL/Domain etc. I hope you have taken care of all that already.

Thanks guys for taking interest in my problem. I am willing to share as much info as required to diagnose the problem other than pasting the url and keyword which is generally not advised.

My main keyphrase is 2 words. It has 35,800,000 results in google although I dont think that matters much. Top 10 results pages are mix of home pages of niche specific sites and subpages of authority sites. PR of top 10 results ranges from 6-4. My website home page PR is 3. There is an EMD in top 10 ranking with just 280 backlinks as per yahoo, but then it is an EMD. Non EMD domains ranking in top 10 are having backlinks in range of few thousands (2000-20000) and so is mine (5000). I havent got any edu/gov links but I have backlinks from related niche as well as with PR from 7-0. I have done onsite seo with required plugins, meta tags, unique content and internal linking.

I agree with you that I should build good quality links to improve in SERP. But my question is a bit different. Why am I ranking on position 20 in google Australia and 195 in google US. I am sure that at least 50 if not 100 out of those 194 sites above me in google US have not even done any seo whatsoever on their site. And my backlinks are from IP ranges from all over the world. I made sure to check that.

Whitegold, to answer your question, its not that doctors dont fall sick and cannot approach other doctors. I run an seo company and have successfully ranked many small and big websites in google top 10. Although I have been doing mostly whitehat seo, but over the past one year I have owned and used xrumer, scrapebox, bmd, senuke, LFE with varying degree of success and always willing to learn more.

Ronywilliam, I too believe in satellite sites and I use LFE to do just that. I use public and private WPMU blogs to pust spun content scraped from ezine etc with my link embedded in it. And i keep blasting those blogs with sb and xrumer.

If you sit so far in the search results it means only one thing - Google fails to associate your site with the keyword. I.e. something is wrong with on page or off page SEO.
