I run a web design company, in Manchester. I don't rank well for Manchester web designer. I'd like to know who can confidently tell me that they can get me to the first page and maybe even to #1.

I don't want to pay a monthly fee without being able to see quantifiable work. Anyone have the ability to work on results?

That's not really the way it works. Yeah, I don't really think that many users are willing to this because it's very risky unless you're offering some sort of deposit but hey - you may be surprised.

You're going to get a lot of replies to this but you're insane if you think anyone who has any experience in SEO or writing quality content is going to work for "results".

That's like asking for a business to be built for you. If you have a budget, be prepared to spend 50% upfront and it won't be cheap. Depending on the keywords you're targeting, it could get pricey.
