I have a product with lots of potential in Brazil but I hear customs is very difficult there. The product has a value of $25 and is legal of course.
Does anyone have any information on how to successfully ship to brazil consumers.
And you heard right. The problem is not that they make a lot of trouble with letting the goods into the Country.
But they will tax the crap out of it. 60% import duty is the norm and it can and will get higher for certain goods.
As long as the buyer is aware of the taxes imposed ( most Brazilian's are ) and the product is still cheap for them go for it.
It doesn't matter how you ship - they treat every incoming shipment the same way.
I have lost a few shipments due to the buyer not wanting to pay the duties and taxes ( i always used fedex ) and fedex will only return the goods to you if you pay for the return postage. I guess that stuff ended up with the custom's official's kid's.....
