Hey everyone,

I’ve started a small AWS-focused DevOps agency. I’m 7x AWS certified and work as a DevOps engineer at a FAANG company. Right now I only have one client doing internal tool development.

I mainly offer AWS infrastructure setup, CI/CD automation, and cost optimization — but I’m struggling to find consistent clients. Is cold outreach still effective in 2025, or are there better ways to get leads for this kind of service?

Appreciate any advice.

Your credentials are a terrific start! Cold outreach can still work in 2025, but it works far better when you use trust-building techniques with it. Focus on content marketing (such posting AWS case studies or automation ideas on LinkedIn), getting referrals, and working with small SaaS firms that need help with DevOps. Instead of being a service provider, make yourself an authority. Clients buy confidence, not just expertise.

Focus on value first outreach, share mini audits or tips, leverage your network, post devops content, and build referrals cold emails still work if personalized.

Hi! I’m doing the same thing. Running a DevOps agency as well.
I recently figured out my absolute minimum hourly rate, so even when I get into conversations with potential clients, I don’t agree to anything below that since it wouldn’t cover my costs.

Right now I’m mostly replying to leads on Upwork, and I also started posting on Threads and X. (To be honest, not much profit yet but it’s a marathon, not a sprint!)

I also bought LinkedIn Premium and started reaching out to people directly. It works a bit better :)

Keep going let’s see where it takes us!
