Looking for good UK host

Hi there.

I have a couple of clients for whom I am doing some web development/SEO work. They both have existing hosts for their sites but are frustrated because they do not have control panel access etc. What I'd like is to set them up on new hosts so that:

1) They have full control over DNS settings.
2) They/I have SSL access for quickly backing up/restoring/moving the site.
3) In the event of the site being hacked/getting a virus - we can quickly repoint DNS to a fall over site.
4) They have full control over name registration, and are notified when it's due to expire etc.

One client's frustration with a previous developer was that he let the name registration expire - the client had no idea that this had happened and his site was thus unavailable for a morning until resolved.

I could manage this all for them but would like the ability to simply hand over these responsibilities directly to the client if our working relationship terminates at some point.

Obviously I'd like a reliable, fast host, based in the UK. Both clients are currently pretty small and don't get more than 1000 hits a month - though obviously I'd like this to increase.

I'd be very grateful for any advice you guys/gels may have.

Head on over to TSOHost - they're usually more than happy to customise any of their packages and their service is top notch.

Take it you are after shared hosting?
Have a look at http://hwshosting.net/, I have VPSes from them but if the standard is anything to go by you won't go wrong

TSOHost for example limited the number of sites one can host for no other reason than greed. Not a fan of nonsensical arbitrary rules.

Have a look at heartinternet.co.uk and justhost. My clients using them they are best than hostgator.

I use tsohost there very good and its very easy to transfer details if you do need to sign it all over to your client.

I dont think hostgator having UK data centers.

Hey, thanks guys - I will check those suggestions out.

Take a look at 1&1 they have UK datacentres and good prices.

If you think, your datacenter will be ok in USA, then you have a good option to choose a hosting company.
I know a company who provide Alpha SSL with there hosting account for free and all of your requirement will be fulfill form that company.
eyhost try to this company in USA server.
or if it is mandatory in UK then try eukhost

been with heartinternet for a year now, no problems at all.
