    hi there,

im looking for advice on what type of hosting to buy. i basically require hosting that will allow user checkouts and paypal transaction. i am in need of hosting and also someone to design a website for me.

what im actually asking is for advice on what to look for in hosting when it comes to security, transactions etc. shall i go for ecommerce hosting? also as an example i would like a system like fiverr but i also want the feature of credit card usage without signing up for paypal.

    can any one guide me?

you have a few different levels that you can use. You can have something like blogger with buy it now paypal buttons. Or you can use a company that has a digital store already made that you plug your products into, and your paypal details (you don't have to sign up to paypal to process credit card details for a purchase) into which you pay a monthly fee for.

Or you can setup your own domain hosting, and take an off the shelf ecommerce package and learn how to setup that yourself. best if your just new is to get a host that you pay each month for an online store.

Use hostgator for your hosting. They have never done me wrong and have had them for the past 2 years.

run a search for ecommerce stores, and just compare a few of the products on offer, depending on what you need they all have varied services.
lots of people use shopify, but it can be expensive if you want lots of products. store2go is good if you want something unlimited, cheap and basic.

Like smileatmywins says, if you go the hosting route, and do it yourself through something like host gator you get the total freedom to create unlimited products, and control the payment gateways, although this is much harder than picking up one of the above mentioned setup stores.

You can go for any of these:
Hostgator, Justhost, Inmotion, 1&1, blueHost, ipage, Omnis ... For checkout option, you have many payment gateways already - paypal, moneybooker, 2co etc etc , the list goes on :)

Hostgator has a very good uptime as a shared hosting, but they don't backup files after 50,000 inodes (files) so I don't choose it for large sites. My favourite hosting is Beyond Hosting. If you run ppc trackers they are the recommended hosting company.
