Looking for fast web hosting

My website is basically a news platform, which will consist of articles, images, videos etc So I'm going to need to be able to handle heavy traffic whilst also producing reliable speed that wont take 5 minutes to load a 10mb video..

Need advice/directions on where to go, as I purchased a package from one provider and hosted just a basic php page containing a 10mb video which lagged and took ages to load the page & then the video was continuously buffering.. They're stating it's due to DNS propagation but I thought DNS would just be domain related, so once I connected successfully through the domain then the rest was down to the host and not the domain? could be potentially wrong, but surely once I'm through the domain, the speed is then down to the server and not DNS?

Get dedicated server just for videos and images (like a CDN), and host your site somewhere else.

Thought about posting videos to YouTube and embedding them to the site?

I believe, you don't need to think about DNS at all. It's the problem of the client. You need to find a VPS or VDS of good quality with honest bandwidth channel. It shouldn't be cheap, but not crazyloo expensive.

I would look for something about 60..100 USD/mo. The real server must be located near your potential visitors.

Try to speed it up with CDN. CloudFlare, KeyCDN, etc.

Your server location is going to be important giving your activities.
The further the server from your location the more you loose in Bandwidth.
Just as in the real world speed relies on time and distance. It is the same for networks.

on your hosting package that you got was it just a shared hosting or did you get a VPS server. If shared then that is your answer. Just about every host is going to have limits on the shared server on what resources you can use since its a shared setup. Best option would be VPS or Dedicated server.

The reply of your provider is.. ridiculous.
But without knowing your target location we cannot guide you.

Get your self a VPS from digital ocean or vultr. Unless of course your content is not that legit.

Maybe, you need to purchase server in a strategic location. As @HostStage said, time and distance are related.
