Hey,
Did you think about a nice wordpress theme with Woocommerce? https://woocommerce.com
I think this is the most user-friendly option in case you are about to make your first site. Although if you were more specific about what you want to do exactly it would be easier to give you advice.

There are three rekinds. One is called plug and play. For this, you need only Wordpress. Sitemile has some themes for it. But note they don't give refund and although they promise customer support its hard to get them to reply to emails. There is still one guy helping people on their forum. For others, you will require woocommerce. You can also go for drupal's Ubercart Marketplace as long as you have technical knowledge on how to make it work.

Hi there,
If you are looking for an ecommerce store builder who have experience & actually run ecommerce stores (In our case, we run 3 estores) do let us know.
Our portfolio can be seen at http://www.windelsolutions.com/portfolio
Our sales thread: http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/wp-themes-magento-landing-pages-logos-banners-custom-php-50-off.515531/
We are a little expensive than freelancers here but you'll be working with professionals who understand how to increase the ROI, conversation rate & go into small details.
