looking for drop shippers

hi guys,

I know many of you have experience either in being a drop shipper or have others sell for you. Can you share with me the following:

-what are the pros and cons of doing commission only vs. pay per cost?
-what is typically the pay range for commission vs. pay per cost?
-how is the process usually done (person receives the order, gets paid, sends the order to the company, the company ships?)

We are an automotive company specializing in recycling OEM auto parts

any info is greatly appreciated and if you have an Ebay/Amazon account in the US and would be interested in becoming a drop shipper for us, please also contact me.

Commision: Less risk, less potential profit

Pay per cost: More risk, greater profit

I dropship stuff that I import and manufacture for Amazon and eBay sellers and have been doing so since about 2003 or so

Our business model is that whoever sells buys the merchandise for us for a set cost and whatever they can make above their cost is none of my business. For example, if item RG2020 is $108 their cost, some sell it for $180 others sell it for $250. It doesn't matter to us as long as we get paid.

This would depend on how risky the item is and who is responsible for what. For the $108 price above, I provide very little hand holding. If the product is defective, that is my problem, but pretty much every other problem you have with your customer, don't bother me about it. I will charge as high as $135 for that same item if you are a customer who needs our help for routine stuff.

ALWAYS get paid first before you ship anything, and get paid by cold hard cash or some method that's not tied directly to the eBay/Amazon (personal credit card, personal check, etc) This way if the eBay account holder's problems doesn't become your problems and if someone who wants to run a drop ship business and has absolutely no capital to cover at least a couple of order/pay cycles, generally those are not the type of people who you want selling for you.
