If someone has it, share it.

I too am looking to promote our site through pinterest as buying traffic can get adsense banned for life. This means that people unless they are very smart have to work really hard to gain a view or a conversion.

Of course I am really just taking a stab in the dark as there are a multitude of ways to gain organic viewers to my site. I guess the format is quite easy you create a pin and then pin it to your website and hope people click on it. The trouble is there are over half a million people registered all trying to do the same thing.

Its a far cry from the days you could inflate views on youtube using bots and bought traffic and get away with it. Now you have to work and I would say unless you are really smart SEO should be only a secondary income to your primary real life job.

Treat it like a search engine. Look up the keywords you want to target by carrying out searches on pinterest and looking at the suggestions it gives you. Put all of those into a list and then refer back to it later when creating your pin descriptions.
Create multiple pins for every piece of content that you're looking to promote on pinterest and repin them regularly.
Ensure you've got a business profile and have activated the rich pins feature, it will help you when looking at your pinterest analytics.

Join as many good group boards as you can find that are related to your topics and pin to and from them regularly.
I'd also recommend using something like Tailwind or Boardbooster to automate a lot of your repinning work and keep a steady stream of content on your profile.

Lots of guides say to post 80% other peoples content and 20% your own, but I've been probably hitting the opposite and haven't seen any negative effects of doing so.
Your pin descriptions should be keyword rich as should your board names and descriptions. The more narrow the board topic the better opportunity it has to rank.

I use Pinterest for some of my niche sites that are dedicated mostly to female niche. I don't do anything blackhat, just the regular thing and it comes second after Organic search traffic-wise.

Give it a try, I know there's a lot of traffic for everyone there if you play by the rules. Sorry if this isn't what you were looking for.
