Looking for advice on improving my design skills

I've been doing graphic design for a while now but i feel like my stuff still looks very amateurish

For those of you who have more experience then me, what did you do to get better?

Was it analyzing other peoples work, going to school for graphic design, or just practicing? Id like to hear from anyone who has gone through the process of improving their skills.

I think practicing is the biggest part, but studying other designers’ work helped me a lot too. Instead of just looking at designs I liked, I started asking myself why they worked—things like typography, spacing, composition, and color choices. Recreating good designs for practice (without using them as your own work) is also a great way to train your eye. Over time, you start making better decisions naturally.

I improved by analysing professional designs, getting honest feedback, and constantly challenging myself with different projects.

Adobe Illustrator is my preferred design software for creating vector images because it produces excellent results.

replication was the biggest unlock for me, not "just practicin" random stuff. Literally recreate designs u admire pixel-for-pixel from scratch, it forces u to understand why somethin looks professional instead of just vibin n guessin
