looking for a VPS for video editing

Rendering a video (1.5 hours) takes 5 hours on my Desktop. (CPU sucks). Can anyone recommend me a VPS provider which supports rendering/editing of video content.

I might be wrong but I believe vultr may support it
 
You can render videos on any VPS provider if you are using CPU but it will most likely take even longer than that unless you have a very bad CPU. The advantage is it's running 24/7 so it may not matter much.

If you want speed renting a server with a GPU is the way to go for rendering.

To save money you should also go with a Linux VPS and use a tool like ffmpeg
 
if you are not going to render using ffmpeg(by terminal).. buying a good computer is a better option for the long term.
a good vps windows for editing with no graphic card would cost at least 40$ a month => in 2 years equals 960$

I once read in the TOS of my VPS provider that it is actually forbidden to use 100 % of the resources during a long period of time.
You might avoid those.

Yes it's best to ask first. Some providers will also just limit your CPU "Host CPU Time" which will limit the percentage of the CPU cores/threads you can use without you knowing easily as the CPU usage on your graphs will still just show as 100% usage. A lot of these budget providers either do this or offer very bad CPUs in my experience "you get what you pay for" is true.

use some cheap VPS with high CPU and RAM resources,
check out contabo as you can get 16 GB RAM with 8 cores CPU Linux VPS for £12 +-

Running 24/7 and using 100% of resources are totally different things,
you can run at 70% of CPU and 90% of RAM without any warnings for almost all providers

Holy shit, the pricing is insane. 4 cores & 8 Gb of ram for 5 € ??? where's the catch ?

I'm using them currently without any problem
using a Linux OS and booting a Windows image would cut some of the resources tho, but won't be that much
usually Linux doesn't need a lot of resources to boot, idk how's the case with this tho

PS: you need to pay 1 month extra for the first month :)
so if you need it for a short term, maybe you should be looking for something similar
 
If you won't run this task many times per month, instead of buying a VPS, you should consider serveless (or even digital ocean VPS), take the max of GPU, and destroy the VPS after the usage. Then you'll pay per hour for a high quality VPS, instead of paying a month a middle/cheap vps quality

I buy used Dell Optiplex 7010's on Ebay for things like this rather than pay monthly fees for a slow VPS. It's an older I7, but it gets the job done.
