Looking for a new host, what do you recommend?

I am currently on asmallorange.com and I'm on a $5/month plan.. that's 400mb/10gb bandwidth.
They have great customer service, very fast.
Great features:
* Unlimited POP3/IMAP Mail Accounts
* Unlimited MySQL Databases
* Unlimited Mailing Lists
* Unlimited Email Forwarders
* Unlimited Subdomains
* Unlimited Parked and Addon Domains
* Unlimited FTP Accounts

The only downside is that my websites go down once or twice a day for a few minutes.
I have asked them about it, but they only told me they're working on it.. it's been happening for a while, I'm sick of it!
I'm looking for a new host now, I have 3 new blogs hosted with asmallorange and traffic is getting higher everyday and I don't really want to stay with them and pay more if my websites will keep going down..
What are you guys on? Anything to recommend?
I'm looking for similar features to asmallorange and something in usa

I recommend looking on http://www.webhostingtalk.com for a host that suits your needs.

I use InnoHosting. They have been great so far. I have a reseller account there. They don't have as many "unlimited" features because they don't oversell their servers. Support is great and they'll migrate your sites for free if you move to them.
 
i like hostgator for budding sites; their customer service has always been great, quick, and responsive to my needs. Upgrading is easy as well too.

I use Knownhost. Been with them for about a year and never had any down time at all, they start from just $5 a month :)
 
dreamhost. find a coupon and pay for the first year only 30$ or something. but the next year will be the full price.

i heard that their bw counter is counting like 10x, if you use 10gb, counter will say 100gb used. is this true?

i am using hostgator and i am very happy with them. never got my sites down. i am using them from last 2 yrs. If you are looking for some cheaper option with big features try netfirms.com/max

you will love how much they are giving you in $10 for a year. No other can give you such price. :)
 
My vote goes to hostgator as well. Nice speed and low price. :)
 
I'm using hostgator and dreamhost ... i'd say go for any of them if you are looking for shared hosting :)
Both have good deals, good customer support and are great value for money.
 
I here a lot of people on here promote hostgator .... so you may want to look at them.

They did have a major vulnerbaility a while back (2006) - but I am sure everything is sound as pound now. The network was compromised for months - several (a huge percentage) of sites where exploited to inject malcious shit when any website visitor came to any of those sites that were hosted with hostgator.

I am going to try to still take adavantage of this deal from them.

It's true on that page it's written that offer will expire on 31st march but when i tried to signup it was still showing same $10 so i will say give it a shot. No one can give you such a offer for such a low price.
2 domain name free of your choice, 250 gb space, 2000 gb bandwidth what else we can get for that :)

If you want to run a business that generates any kind of traffic or you want to run scripts that needs crons then DO NOT use Servage.

I was with them for a while and had nothing but problems. They also have a very odd filepath naming convention (due to their clustered server layout) that makes running scripts difficult and some scripts will not run on their servers.

Their control panel sucks and is extremely limiting. For example, cron jobs can be set up to run no more often than once a day, and you can target only by the hour (not by minutes).

They also have a very limiting resource policy that operates off of the number of hits to your site... not bandwidth. They also enforce a daily hit maximum, so when your domain exceeds the daily hit maximum your domain is automatically disabled for the remainder of the day. Your domain will then be re-enabled at the start of the next day.

If you are running a business, this is critical because you could have your domain disabled for a good part of the day if you have any kind of significant traffic going to your site.

After my domain was disabled a few times for exceeding the daily hit maximum, I had no choice but to find a better web host. They cost me more money in lost business because of disabling my domain a few times than the total cost of their web hosting fee.

I have had a good experience so far with BlueHost and JaguarPC.

Well, shared hosting is not for everyone. If you have such a high traffic that brings you money, you shall consider to upgrade to a Virtual Private Server, instead of a low cost shared hosting service.

Regarding cronjob, there are limitations to avoid shared server's overloading, but there is no problem to run the same cronjob 24 tzimes a day, just you have to be inventive to set up 24 similar cronjobs.
Besides, I am using successfully "poormanscron" script.

Th control panel provided by Servage seems more secure and easier to use than any other cp for my needs.

Of course, it's hard to find a service that fits to all, and I also use VDS at Jumpline, but that's not the same low cost solution, as Servage provides. You shall check out several hosts and choose according to your needs.

What's certain, although there are a few customers with special needs, but Servage fits for over 150,000 satisfied customers.

No wonder if you see all their features, as unlimited autoresponders, unlimited domains, MySql servers, domains, e-mails, ftp accounts, one free domain registration, 500GB storage, 5000GB traffic etc.
