It is exactly as I said. I am looking for a mass file renamer BUT I want to be able to input many keywords hopefully primary and secondary and it randomizes titles. Would really appreciate any insight into the problem at hand!

I could see what I could do. What exactly are you looking for in terms of the names? two keywords with additional random numbers and letters? synonyms of the keywords? Or maybe a list of primary keywords and secondary keywords with the file name a combination of the two?

That is basically it - input primary and secondary then they mix together how they will, that would be insane! Also if this matter I am doing it for videos. I hope that it is simple but I really appreciate the reply.

So just two words, or two lists of words?

Two lists of words, primary and secondary. *please* Also multiple secondary attaching to a primary function would be great but unnecessary. I will rename probably 10k of files in total. Lots and lots

Thanks Tier539 unfortunately it will be for thousands of files and hopefully they can be renamed automatically.

Hmm, I'm not completely sure, but I think "FastStone Image Viewer" could do this. It's working with images in bulk, and the renaming function should be integrated. Take a look at it! :)

Cheers, I shall look into it my Finnish friend. It may not support video though but who knows!

How about creating shell script rename_script.sh "mv original_name new_name" with 10k such lines. Can create with Calc or Excell and execute:#sh rename_script.shI do similar things (Calc generated script) at work every week or so . 10k rename operations is nothing for decent PC/Server. 1 minute should be enough to execute it on normal HW. Note: It is for ux style operating systems, but if you use Windows, just install cgwin.

It doesn't do media files as far as I can see on their site.

    :
    eatures
    • Convert and Rename images in batch mode
    • Support JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF and JPEG2000
    • Resize, crop, change color depth, apply color effects, add text, watermark and border effects
    • Rename images with sequential number
    • Search and replace texts in the file names
    • Preview conversion and renaming
    • Support folder/non-folder structure
    • Load and save settings
    • And much more...

Thanks for that. I couldn't attach the link :p The source is in there and I'm sure someone can verify it does nothing malicious or unintended. The false positives result from it being coded in autoit.

Edit: Seems as if that my previous posts were deleted.
