I'm doing a project with 2 other guys. We are each on a different continent so i need a web based tool where we can collaborate, share files, store information etc.

I've looked all over the internet but nothing seems to fit my needs.
I want to host it on my own server.
And because i don't have any money it needs to be open source too...
I tried stuff like redmine, project pier but i need something more like google docs on my own server.

Management functions like tasks, time-management etc. are good, but for now we are doing mostly research and planning so the focus lies on collaboration.

    Have you tried podio?

It would be free for you - and it looks like it'll do the job.
