Looking for that dream job as a CTO of a start up, but don't have any ideas where to get such a job, or even a company you'd like to work for? Well, I have a proposal for those techy ones of you out there that might give you just what you're looking for.
You can read enough about me all over this forum (but a quick read can be easily done in my BST, just click the banner and there's my intro in the thread), but what I want to do is move one step further than just selling content I write on BHW and WF, I want to go and widen the scope. I will happily discuss this in more detail with you on Skype, just make an "application" to me via PM, and I'll give you my Skype name. However, if you just say "plz send Skype", I won't, as you have to give me at least one reason to do that. Nothing world changing is needed, just a reason as to why I should chat more about this with you.
The idea is to do something similar to what services such as Textbroker and Scripted are doing, that's all I'm saying here, and this should give you an idea of what type of endeavour I'm wanting to go on.
Now, what I'm looking from one of you is to become the "CTO" of the business I'm planning. I'm not saying I can't design a good Wordpress site, but I am admitting that when it comes to programming and handling any of the slighlty more technological things, I'm lost. I want someone who can develop a Wordpress plugin, theme and then keep the service running smoothly on the technical side, and SEO skills would be a huge benefit.. I'll handle the content, writers and even marketing.
In short, I'm looking for a partner (no investment required except for your time, no need for 40+ hours a week either, I'm doing this as a sort of 10-20 hours per week max side project as well) who can do the programming and technical side of a content business (and preferably SEO), and I'll handle the content/customer/marketing/social media side of things.
All the money that we will make will be put back into the business, to develop it further, and who knows where we'll end up! Profit split is 50/50, as will be the workload split (might be a bit heavier for you in the beginning, but when the writing jobs start rolling in, I'm sure we're going to equal it out pretty nicely).
I'm not offering this as a mentoring type of thing, as you'll have to pull your own weight in this project. This is not a rush project, but I'd like to get started on it as soon as possible.
Personally, it doesn't matter to me where you are located at, but the UK and US do have an advantage of being good places to register a company, as I expect the project will be needing a company registered after we get some momentum into the business.
I must've left a dozen things out from this, but if you have any questions or comments or whatever, just shoot them in this thread.
