As long as your campaigns have been running then you can benefit from the historical CTR (your quality score will anyway). There can't be any big lapses though. Here is a good writeup on historical data in Adwords and how it affects accounts.
Hope that helps,
Google have a couple of handy keyword tools in their own systems which allows you to play around with bids and see what kind of traffic you would generate for what kind of money. I find them very useful.
Campaigns were paused for all that time but maybe only switched to run very occasionally. I suppose the only real answer to this will be to suck it and see. Anyway thanks for your info I found that link very useful.
One further request if I may.. I see google now take landing page quality as part of the quality score. I imagine the goalposts have moved on that over the last couple of years particularly given the way the organic algo is now working. Do you have any online resources for creating great landing pages.
In the case of PPC I don't want to aim it at my front page (I have done this in the past with good results) as it now carries other information useful to my offer but not directly related to my KW.
There is ton of tuts and info around this forum on how to create simple converting landing pages just search for it..
Well, my personal experience. its more with domain; I have changed 6-8 accounts for a domain and CTR and ads are always at top - I think its your domain history but account history give more insights - keywords conversions etc and many things.
