I have a couple of accounts which have kw history and CTR of between 6 and 8%...

I have not used these accounts since 2008/09.

Can I benefit from the KW history and CTR on these after so long? One account still has about £70 credit on it (forgot about that) or should I start afresh?

This niche is bound to have become a lot more competitive in the last 3 years and is now dominated by some big players. Are there any online tools which can give me a heads up on current click prices for kw phrases?

I have 4 years worth of KW data and conversions per website hits so know how to structure my campaigns and how much to chuck at it per day to get meaningful returns. Would Google give me any more credibility (and see me as a serious player) if I loaded my account balance with a few K to start off with rather than dripping a couple hundred every other week?

As always cheers for any tips.

Google have a couple of handy keyword tools in their own systems which allows you to play around with bids and see what kind of traffic you would generate for what kind of money. I find them very useful.

    Shawn,
Campaigns were paused for all that time but maybe only switched to run very occasionally. I suppose the only real answer to this will be to suck it and see. Anyway thanks for your info I found that link very useful.
One further request if I may.. I see google now take landing page quality as part of the quality score. I imagine the goalposts have moved on that over the last couple of years particularly given the way the organic algo is now working. Do you have any online resources for creating great landing pages.

In the case of PPC I don't want to aim it at my front page (I have done this in the past with good results) as it now carries other information useful to my offer but not directly related to my KW.

Well, my personal experience. its more with domain; I have changed 6-8 accounts for a domain and CTR and ads are always at top - I think its your domain history but account history give more insights - keywords conversions etc and many things.
