Title says it all. Making a Squeeze Graphic for my site. Thoughts? Suggestions? Think it will be effective?

You will never know if it will be effective or not need to try it out. Personally for me looks a littile bit different from others, thats a good thing, but it lacks something maybe the output reminds me the old paint times (i understand that idea is behind that) but i bet you can improve it more.
 
i suggest you to use sketchy graphics for your page and its look awesome, your idea is best.
 
idea is nice, but use some good illustration graphics for it and background too :)
 
concept good. need professional illustration and background graphics to attract visitor.
 
The watermark made it look not that professional, but I think the concept is great. Just make sure the fingers are not cut out though, and at least add a formal font (anything that's not playful) for the professional look.
