Long Term Experiment - The "Foolproof" Linkwheel

The service that ppcmaster is offering in his post was developed and designed by me and although I am fine with others sharing the method, I am a bit surprised that he just copied my ebook word for word but that is his prerogative. He also offers to "sketch up an image" but he won't have to sketch anything as he already has the image I generated in my ebook. The process is not new, I've been using it for almost a year.

That being said, I am flattered that he didn't change the process as he sees the value in the structure I developed.

I have since taken this to another level and am in the process of having a program developed that will do 90% of the work for the link push since I make several of these a week. I believe that I will have a working copy of the program in my "hands" by the end of the week and will see how it goes.

@Micallef - I would say a typically good thread started by you but your threads are generally not typical, they are almost always excellent and good for the community.

Whats the name of this ebook? Id like to take a look at it.

@BassTrackerBoats,

Sorry about using your content. My sincere apologies. The content has been removed from our site. We would love the chance of offering this as a service to our customers if you I have your permission to proceed. If you do allow us to use your structure, we will be sure to present the structure in our own words and with due credits to you.

Looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,
JC

Atleast he was good enough to acknowledge it and ask permission. Not deny it like a twat.

@Micallef

How can you determine the effect of such linkwheel that exact?

So are the Linkwheels builded by Senuke (one link to moneysite, one link to the last page) anything worth? Or would it be better to set a second link to the moneysite?

The answer I suppose is that I have a lot of personal experience with a lot of different types of linkwheels.

Google will go crazy over links that look really legit. Links in the text of an authoritative blog relevant to your money site are treated in the highest regard by the Google bot.

This has been known for a while, and last year (and some years before that) a lot of people made a lot of money with pretty obvious looking "linkwheels", but now - as you would expect in such an advanced organisation - Google has tightened up and become better at separating the spam from the good stuff. So we have to adapt.

A more direct answer would be that just throwing out a few blogs with 1 or 2 machine spun posts all at once is not going to do you any good, no matter what link structure you go with.

Is the linkjuice all about targetting the same keyword? If not maybe it would work by using automated systems like senuke or sick when you link the properties but the link to the moneysite is different. Maybe another url and another targetted keyword at each property. Maybe even linking to different domains.
Or maybe its sufficient to use redirect-urls (301)?

Would that work or is it important to target the same keyword?

Hello Micallef,

I am a n00b. Can you please make a diagram or even ebook (I would pay about $20) telling us in detail what you do exactly?

Thx U, James

There's quite a lot of detail in the original post if you want to take another look. I haven't decided what link structure I am going to use on my networks yet, but it will be ultra-conservative and subtle.

I am afraid I am not in the ebook business - I am surprised that anyone buys them but it seems to be a big thing.

I'm happy to answer any more detailed questions you may have on this thread.

Status Update:

All of the mini-sites I am creating are getting indexed in 3 days or less.

Here is some more insight into what I'm doing:

1) Leave at least 3 days between creating each mini-site

2) Vary the names and urls of the blog to a high degree - reducing the focus to the industry the product is in, rather than the product itself.

3) Only 2 out of the 4 articles to be uploaded will have the keyword product's name in the title.

4) Heavy out-linking to .gov and .edu sites and wikipedia.

5) Pinging all posts.

6) Using scrapebox and manual commenting to get PR 4/5/6 links to the mini sites. No "crossed wires" - a spam source will only ever link to a network once. About 50% of the links go to the home page, and the rest are divided up among the subpages. My target keyword features in about 25% of the anchor text submissions.

7) Absolutely no interlinking - yet.

8) I have resorted to buying some content, but I am still making a lot of it myself.

9) Articles are posted the next day, then the day after, then 2 days after that.

For everyone, the purpose of making a network like this will be different. In most cases, I am looking to bolster pages on which my income depends. Some of the networks I'm building are more like insurance policies - when an inevitable Google shift occurs, I want to have some A material ready to jump in and restore position.

You sir actually get it... bravo. People having problems with their link-wheels, pay attention to this thread. He's handing it to you on a silver platter

Hello Micallef, you are a genius.

How did you comment spam via Scrapebox? What were your numbers of submissions on average?

What do you mean by this:

No "crossed wires" - a spam source will only ever link to a network once. About 50% of the links go to the home page, and the rest are divided up among the subpages. My target keyword features in about 25% of the anchor text submissions.

Some amazing detail there Thank you!

The Link Wheel does seem the best method to be able to dominate Google with the least amount of time and effort, but really on works for specific niches.

Wow. A lot to digest there! It's really helped so thank you :D

It's Linkroot not Linkwheel ;)

@ spirit bay - I mentioned orangemonkeybuttslippers.com in another post.. want to snag that too? :D ... It seems though the 'me too' terminology of this method is too well rooted in peoples heads for the new term to take root. Clever puns intended. ;)

Maybe I just need a little classic conditioning... all you people reading this at this moment.. as you read the next words, you must speak them out loud:

Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot
Linkroot

There we go. Doesn't that feel better?

Here is an added bonus. If this takes off, and I get my domain, I will build it up to a PR6 and offer a free link to all those who from this day forward start using Linkroot as the proper terminology to describe this method. :)

Ok.. I got classic conditioning and bribery going for me here. Now all I need is a little luck. That free domain shall be mine! :D

Fantastic info. It's inspired me to get back in the game after a failure. I'll try doing a sort of mixed system. Most of the articles with original content, and some deliberately copied, but with a link back to the original and some random comments added.
Is there anything else I could use besides the obvious wordpress, blogger or hubpages ?

Hi Micallef,

Just wondering how the sites are doing, I don't usually like to bump threads but I feel it has been an appropriate amount of time now. Your plan seems good and I'd like to know if this is a good model for the future link{wheel|root}

No problem, I was meaning to update anyway.

I've come to integrate the mini-net into my everyday SEO activities. For my most profitable keywords, I simply view the construction and promotion of mini sites (in the way described in the original post) as a project that will continue indefinitely. The more assets you control, the more control you can have over a keyword.

So, I've now got some formidable networks going. The average network size is 8, but to really make sure of avoiding the time-stamp trigger, I've slowly built up and still have not finished (up to site 6 or 7 on each network).

Because it's so spaced out in time, the production process is really not draining at-all. Building up the backlinks to the mini sites takes work, but It's easy enough. Most of the sites have between 20 and 40 decent backlinks (combination of manual and scrapebox).

In fact, some of the minisites are beginning to rank for unintended long tails. I've got some confused comments from genuine readers asking me about the incorrect statements and general nonsense I've been idly using for content. This is a good sign that Google is treating my high quality mini-sites as real, trusted websites.

All blogs have been indexed in 3 days or less, none have been taken down, and I've stuck to the original plan for the most part.

The only change is that I have adapted my content production to cope with the high demand for articles. For the first 2 or 3 posts on a mini site, I will use 100% unique content. After this point, I think it's ok to use really well-spun content (I use the best spinner). By "well spun", I mean 70% plus, with 4 levels of nested spinning and at least 40% of the sentences being optional. Spinning to this level of quality is time consuming, but it takes about one third of the time it would take to create the same amount of content the old fashioned way - and it's much less effort-intensive.

So yes, it's all going to plan.

But as for a final result, I can't provide it just yet. This is a long term experiment in every sense of the word. The time hasn't yet come for me to "switch on" the networks. That will come in the next several weeks.

Just hope you get your results before the next Google update.. or all your data and effort will be squished like a bug to get definitive answers. :)

Well quite.

If anything, though, having high quality proto-networks which are at present indistinguishable from real non-spam websites is a good insurance policy to have available when the next Google update comes along.

The networks themselves are not spammy in any way. Most of them are designed to leap (slowly) into action when the next Google update lowers the rank of a critical money page.

Great thread and I like the way you've outlined the triggers/flags to avoid.

The only thing that gives me pause about your setup is the use of the unrelated text read from newspapers. Sure, it gets past the spam filters in the algorithm, but what about a hand check? Say for example a competitor checks your BL, sees some of your mininet sites and reads the content. He then files a spam report and G decides to nuke your mininet.

This sounds like the only risk for long term usage, and more potential for a problem with the sites getting visitors and comments about the weird language in the content.

I've been using something similar but do it slightly differently: I build my network first, a good three months before the site in question is built, and hand write all the stuff on it, so it looks decent and monetise it with Amazon, so it looks like the web 2.0s are the property of some mommy blogger. But none have more than three pages.

If you stagger the building this way, and backlink them, they not only rank, but gain pagerank. I even got some Amazon sales from them, as they look legit.

Then I start work on my money site, build content, send a few article backlinks and social bookmark backlinks. Then one month in I start sending a link from my web 2.0 network in, one a week. It's all very slow and under the radar. You do start moving up the serps though at a steady pace.

Because all of the above is pre-planned, you need to control it all with a spreadsheet just so you can track where you are up to, and this approach lends itself to working on multiple projects at the same time.

The only thing I disagree with the OP on is that he has only 8 web 2.0s in his linkroot. I find I need about 15-20, even when some of them have accrued pagerank to pass on to the money site.
