    hey guys,

    i'm kinda a newbie here...

Anyway, there is a site that i have been watching and have been totally pulling my hair our on how it works.

basically, the site gets about 20-30K uniques daily, and 90% of its traffic is coming from long tail keywords.. somehow he's got so many terms listed on page 1 on google.. the long tail keywords are something like :

    Miley Cyrus images
    2pac Shakur Wallpaper Images
    I Miss you Quote graphics

My question is, how the hell does he get so many inner pages ranked on page 1? he has thousands of these search terms ranking on page 1.

I am looking to hire someone to code me a site just like his who is fluent in whitehat SEO, PHP, and SQL. I also have a ton of other work that i need done on various other projects. I need a right hand man. Please PM me.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Could you give us the URL of the site you're talking about so we can have a look how he/she does it?

Edit: btw, what is all that testing about? Got an automated pm sender :)?

Without knowing the URL, here's some things you can do to get a better sense of the site:

    1. How many pages from the domain are indexed by Google? To find out, just type site:http://www.domain.com and that will give you all the pages indexed
    2. Use a backlink checking software such as backlinkwatch dot com. They use Yahoo's Web Service to show you number of links, anchor text, etc. Helpful to know where they are getting their links from (and often HOW they are getting them. IE if you see TONS of forum links, maybe using XRUMER
    3. If the site has been around for awhile, you can look at quantcast dot com to see traffic trends, use semrush dot com to give you a sense of what keywords they might be ranking for.

    Hope this is helpful

My guess without seeing the site is
tons of external site links. If there are lots of celebrity stuff the site could be getting links from all sorts of fans. milycyrsussfans.com links to that page and tupacmemorial.com links too. mini niches within an overall music themed thing going on.

tons of internal site links. Each page hits heavy for tis term and then supportst he others. So the miley cyrus has her name as keyword plus music, CDs, mp3 as keywords and links to Tupac that also talks about music, cds, and mp3 and both sites power each other up.

Could be his pages are cloaked, showing one set of pages to search engines and another to human traffic, that would give him a lot of long tailed keywords, especially if they are not in his pages.

I have been looking at this guys traffic for a while.. its weird.. one day he was only getting like 1K traffic.. and then all of a sudden a TON of his inner pages got ranked.. i'm talking thousands.. possibly close to 20,000 internal pages ranking on page 1 for long tail keywords. from that day on he's been banking. it's like google turned on a switch for him.

i have found a few more sites that are also using this strategy.. here are two of them.

    Code:
    http://www.layouts.fm
    Code:
    http://www.all4myspace.com
as you can see these sites have amazing alexa's... all of their traffic comes from long tail keywords... for example, type the following in google:

    2pac Layouts
    Best Friend Layouts
    Rihanna MySpace Layouts

plain and simple - you put any word before the word "Layouts", those 2 sites appear in the listings.. This is how they generate traffic.

    So how is this done?

I had a myspace site that ranked on page one for tons of myspace keywords. Got over 10K uniques/day until it was boxed. I archived these rankings by using a content generator and pointing a few good links to the index page. The site didn't make much money.

the two sites you mentioned have been around awhile and most likely achieved their ranking though heavy link purchasing.

it's not a lucrative as it seems.

I check on the site about myspace it's obvious that they bough hundreds of links
maybe what's interesting with this site is they use pics instead of text links and also they use static links and tags on their site
