Long Tail Pro v. Market Samurai

I have Market Samurai and I just got Long Tail Pro at the $42 discount. That is without the Platinum upgrade. What I am interested in is the Keyword competitiveness. Is it worth it to pay 300 dollars extra for that.

Right now I am thinking that unless I upgrade there is no reason for me to keep it. Or at least I won't upgrade it.

Is Long Tail Pro's formulat for evaluating keywords really that much better than Market Samurai's. They don't really have that but they suggest that looking at Majestics Title and Anchor metric will indicate competition.

Anyway, did I make a mistake buying this?

I also have Keyword Extreme 4 for massive keywords across several engines. Of course MS. I also have Niche Finder but it doesn't work.

Should I keep LTP or what do you think?

Sorry for the repetitive and long winded nature of my question. And. Thanks for considering it.

I'm wondering the same thing.. I bought long tail pro and it seems pointless without the platinum upgrade which for $300 is just too much.

I am using both Longtail Pro & Market Samurai, both have good results but in detailed overall SEO or keyword analysis Market Samurai is the best. I think only advantage using the Longtail Pro is Keyword competitiveness, this is best metric to analyze a keyword. That's exactly not available in Market Samurai.

Thanks! Just upgraded to long tail platinum for only $27 a month. There is a monthly option thankfully/

I am also thinking to do the same, it's not that good without the platinum upgrade.

Can anyone tell us which keyword tool is supposed to have the best "keyword competition" analysis?

Not just between Market Samurai and Long Tail Pro but between everyone.

I have all those tools I mentioned above and Traffic Travis. I have been comparing results and they all look fairly similar.
So this all comes down to analyzing Keyword Competition. Who is best at that?

Why are you guys thinking that it's pointless without platinum? I have it for months and use it often and it's a great tool for check out new keywords.

I am using LongTail Platinum, Its Good. I am paying $17/month for Platinum Service. Hope I can Upgrade to Lifetime Subscription ASAP.

Without Platinum Service you cant research properly.

Yes, $300 is worth for Lifetime Platinum Upgrade....

Long tail Platinum is the best tool for keyword research on first day using it, i found 8 keywords which were under 15 (KC) and websites competing on that keywords were 2/3 years old without any backlinks from authority websites

They have a special promotion going on where it's $27 for the program and there will be an upsell for lifetime of $197. I think it's going to end in a couple of days. I'd rather get the lifetime instead of paying a monthly fee

I used Market Samurai for a time and I have to say it was better (in my opinion) than the Long Tail Pro version. The SEO Competition checker + "all in title", domain age, etc. is just more detailed than LTP. Anyway, it's just whatever you prefer.

@OP, I recommend you to find a trial version for both and see which program you feel more attracted to to work with

Can you give us a link to buy it for $17 instead of the normal $27. At 17 it is too inexpensive to not investigate
