    This guy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5qSUdhxQMdFm7AjXt-QDxg

I have been watching his videos for a while now and yes , I do watch wrestling so this is why how I know him . His videos started getting a lot more views than they did before in the past few months . What he did was he started using long tail keywords, things that barely anyone searches for and he ranks for most of them .

He does have 70000 subs so some might argue that all his views are coming from there but I doubt it . It is known that only 5-7% of your subs will watch every single one of your videos , which is true , for me at least . I tried using his method in the past but it did nothing for me ( I'm in a different niche ) .

So i thought he might be getting these views from suggested videos which doesn't actually make any sense since his tags have nothing in common with all other channels in his niche , the keywords INSIDE the tags , yes but not the overall tag. Anyway I opened private mode on a portable browser ( I never use that browser , it is basically like brand new ) , I searched for the major keywords : "WWE" for example his video was not on the first page , I clicked every single video on the first page and his video was not in the suggested videos either . I did that with a few other major ( short , high compeition ) keywords and no results once again. He doesn't get many signals from social media either . I know for a fact he is not buying views but I am just curious , could all those views be coming from from his subs because I see plenty of 100K + channels getting 2- 6 K views per video .

Is there something im missing , does anybody know anything about long tail keywords that nobody will ever search for and why am I seeing more and more people use them ? You don't get ranked for anything high comp , neither do you get in people suggested videos , what's the point ?

    Another example :

This is not a long tail keywords video but it has been ranked for the term " news " for a full week now. It was ranked 1st when it just had 1K views, the retention time is awful, no social media signals , average SEO, low authority channel , almost no subs gained from it, I don't even know wtf is going on anymore, could this be random , could have youtube made some of the search results random due to the many complains from smaller channels being to hard to grow ?
