I'm wanting to get into a niche that has tons almost limitless keywords to go after. The catch is low CPC but I dont use adsense anyway. Anyhow most of the keyword have anywhere between 12-18 KC according to long tail pro tool. Now my question is, should I even worry about building links?

you should also make competitor analysis . If your best top competitor has 20 links you should go for 21 in order to get to first place.

Otherwise low cpc means only for adsense but it is huge potential for amazon, clickbank, shareasale, your own produtc etc... you see the potential here. right..

12-18 KC could be tempting but also misleading. Check your top ten competition across different factors before trying to take them on.

See where you rank without links. If you rank on top without any links - highly unlikely - then don't. But if you rank promising without any links, a couple of well placed links can skyrocket your serps.

You can't rank on page 1 for any keyword without links unless for obscure keywords or when you publish your content on a domain that already has a good amount of authority in Google.

Since you are starting a new site, there's no way you can rule out link building. It's an imperative aspect of SEO for any website targeting any keyword worth ranking for.
