I go to the gym on a regular basis. I'm decent size for my height 5'9 185. What really cracks me up are these kids that come into the gym, gain a little size and suddenly their head/ego gets massively big.

They walk around and try to stare everyone down... It's so funny how people think that size can help you fight better. Anyone that watches MMA religiously like myself laughs at these kids.

Sorry for the rant, I just see these guys letting their ego get the best of them.

im not one of these kiddies, but having a -huge- ego is wonderful, i fucking love it, if u aint got one, develop it :D

its nice to see a weight lifting enthusiast.

I go to the planet fitness gym.

16 years old
5'8 195 pounds
bench: 175 pounds

actually size of a person in a fight does matter.

but just because someone is bigger doesnt mean they are going to win.

Yeah, I know this first hand. I lifted for a lot of years and had a decent bodybuilder physique. Then I decided to pick a new, healthier sport and started MMA. All that muscle didn't help much and actually hurt me in some ways. I dropped from 225 down to 195 and am ripped but a far better fighter than I was at 225 when I much stronger. I could kick my old muscular self's ass right now.

The only gym rats I have ever respected did a whole lot of ass whuppin' outside of the gym. As far as the meatheads who just spend 3 hours in there on a 1 hour workout...complete douchebags. The gym smells like crap and its full of sweaty dudes...anyone trying to spend more time in there than necessary has some issues.

It sometimes matters... if both are well trained, yes it matters. Look at Bruce Lee though. Tiny guy - amazing fighter/athlete

Having an Ego can help out, but having it too much either way can be detrimental. I just laugh at the kids who go there to make their ego bigger. If they put as much time lifting as they do looking at themselves in the mirror they would probably be even bigger.

I just like it when I am working the bench with some weights, then out of nowhere a hot MILF comes up and starts doing squats in front of me (or something involving bending over in short-shorts). It happens every time and with different women. They are screaming for my 18 yr old dick; I'm not delusional, these women are HORNY. Sadly I am to scared to pursue them, they seem dirty being so blatant about their intentions, they could have STDs. Worst is jailbait that use some kind of machine with no undies in short-shorts, trying to game me SHOWING ME EVERYTHING. This world is perverse if your even mildly attractive.

That is my whole motive for going to the gym. There are a bunch of strippers that work out at the same gym I use which helps keep me motivated.

I am a girl...and the first fight i got into was when I was 15 yrs old me 5'5 and a whoopin 95lbs kicked the living shit out of the 17 yr old 6'2 195 lb guy......size does NOT matter, its your training. I will dig up the old films of my fights, even though I haven't practiced in a bit I still could do some damage lol, no ego here

haha I've seen them all Guys the young Guys walkin around with their back flexed out to make everyone think their Huge, the looks, the stares, the chicks,,I've been there...I've been a Gym Rat since 1992, competed in state shows (Middle Weight) meet pro's and top armatures,, but one things for sure just because you have some muscle if you don't know how to use your size and strength in a fight you will lose, so you damn sure better know how to fight, if you don't.... well having all that muscle won't keep you from getting your ass handed to you...

Choppa

I practice MMA/BJJ........I don't "Look" like I could fight anyone......

Don't let a person's looks deceive you.......I have been and still am nasty in a street fight.

I surprise some of the younger and much better "in shape" dudes in our training sessions.

While I would prefer to build myself to the Bruce Lee physique (when he was his most muscular), that will take time. In the meantime, DO NOT EVER underestimate anyone!

THAT will get your ass handed to you.......

Even in the school I train in (we have UFC fighters at our school), you will get the few who think that they are better than others. And they are NOT the UFC guys, it is the wannabe UFC fighter, most of the time that behaves like that.

Most are here for the most effective Combat Sport/Martial Art and to learn all that they can. Here in Florida, it is not uncommon to see active UFC fighters training at the school and they have always been friendly. And yes, they can and do kick ass, without acting like idiots. One guy I spoke with the other day looked familiar, but I did not know he was. Friendly and nice to talk to.....turned out he has been on TUF and is actively training.

I am an old Karate trained (first) dude, who has always been a rebel when it comes to katas and so on (hated them) so this school fits the bill......also, my two kids are blue belts in BJJ and they train in MMA as well.

On a more mature note, it is my observation that people that act like jerks really have issues at heart and have self esteem issues, etc.

IGNORE them!

Go Machida!
