allright. so this one is just for fun, so i decided to share with BHW:

we have a heap of cucumbers, laying on the floor.
the heap weights 100 kilograms.
We know that, the cucucmbers consist by 99% of water (not very good, but we have what we have)
After the water vaporised, our heap was by 98% of water.
Can you calculate, what will be weight of the heap after vaporisation?
 
if 3+5+7+.........+n terms/ 5+8+11+............+10 terms =7

the value of n (cucumber) is

a) 35 b) 36 c) 37 d) 40

2. if A,B,C are the points of the cucumber - z1,z2,z3 ant the angles B and C are each pie- alpha/2 then (z2-z3)^2 = 4(z3-z1)(z1-z2) sin^2 alpha/2

Answer = 99.484759

what does "our heap was by 98% of water" mean? do you mean the water in the cucumber was decreased by 98%? if so then the answer would be 2.98kg, because 99% of it is water and if 98% of the water evaporated that would be 98% of 99% which is 97.02% of the total weight gone so it would be 2.98% of 100kg which is 2.98KG
 
no again. not 99, not 2 or 3.
you can guess it, but it is not interesting.
 
0. After everything vaporizes you have nothing left in the heap. So 0, notta, zilch, nothing.

i meant that cucumbers consisted of water
the water was 99% before, 98% after vaporisation

after reading again it makes more sense if you replace "by" with "of" so "After the water vaporised, our heap was of 98% of water." so it started with 99% water and now its 98% water.

so work out the dry weight which would be 1% of 100kg which is 1kg. so:
so 2% = 1kg (dry weight stays the same) making 98% = 49kg of water. so the total weight would be 50KG

checking:
now 98% of 50 = 49, 49 + 1kg (dry weight) = 50Kg

really? ok I have a question for you.

if the ratio of male to female in a building is 8:12 what is the probability that when 8 are picked at random 5 are female and 3 are male?

EDIT: I guess that was a bit harsh, but the answer is 0.27869184, or 27.869184%. the calculation is 8C5*((12/20)^5)*((8/20)^3). 8C5 is 8 choose 5, its binomial distribution.

I was confused like others by the line "After the water vaporised, our heap was by 98% of water. Can you calculate, what will be weight of the heap after vaporisation?". I would have phrased it, "After some of the water evaporated, the cucumbers are now 98% water. What is the current weight of the cucumbers?"
