I mean talk about bloody cheek! rep is given as a way of showing
appreciation, it's not a trade-off.
Now I got rep power of 5 so he gives me 1 and looks for 5 back.
So I ponder the question, Do I de rep?

Sure you are. We're just tired of seeing mad posts, 30+ deleted at this point, asking the same questions about the rep system changes over and over. It's been answered.

It happens though. I wouldn't go on a rampage and de-rep this person to kingdom come.

I'd send a nice friendly message explaining how rep works on BHW, and how sending him +rep would only artifically inflate his reputation, which is bad for the forum.

Take it easy on 'em, champ.
