What would you recommend as an online logo maker that is completely free, so including download? Many let you do what you like until you find out that to get the logo you have to pay.

Of course I could go on Fiverr, but I want to play with logos a little bit by myself, so I can get an idea or two...

Don't know pixlr, but with Gimp you have to do everything from scratch, that goes beyond my present skills.

Logoease is the only one I've found so far, and it works perfectly, they just offer a very limited selection of icons and images.

    Anything else?

    Thanks

Gimp is free but takes a long time to get used to. Better off getting a cracked copy of cs5 if you are going to start learning software. If you just want to make simple banners and logos then bannerfans.com is a handy little tool

GIMP is really not that complicated if you watch a couple basic tutorials.

And it can still perform a function that photoshop cannot: Grow / Shrink pixel selection (great for adding a sharp-edged stroke around something, unlike PS where it will always be rounded edges).

If you learn how to use Selections, Layers and Fill, you'll have a great head start if you ever get Photoshop.
