Logitech wireless mouse & keyboard for Internet Marketing. Good idea ?

I am thinking to buy the Preformance MX mouse and K800 keyboard but since they are rather expensive ($100 mouse / $140 keyboard) and considering the fact that we, as internet marketers spend long periods of time in front of the computer everyday (me 10h <) I'm having second thoughts regarding how long the batteries will last between charges.
Please share your experience.

I recently switched from wireless mouse to wired because I was tired of having to recharge the battery every week. On top of that I was getting occasional interference.
 
I personally prefer wired.
Yes mouse wire gets in way some time.

So i will give wireless a try

negative point of wireless mouse i think is i feels heavier.
 
Instead of wired/ wireless think how much ergonomic it will be. I love spending hours in front of the screen only if i'm using a gaming mouse/keyboard because of the their ergonomic design.
 
So what gaming mouse do you recommend for 10 hours of daily work?

I don't think there is much advantage on gaming mouses and keyboards. In past when i used to play games all day long i though that the just normal mouses were great than those gaming mouses which were huge. Also had loads of different mouses always trying to find the new best.


You could try MS sidewinder or w/e it is , it has charging dock with wire to mouse, so you can easily use it with cord and without if needed.
 
Don't waste your money. I bought my son both and he did not like either. I returned them.

I really like it, fits the hand perfectly, The side keys are set volume up and volume down (you can change it) and a mute button (I listen to music a lot) , so really fits my requirements and fits the hand (most important).

Battery life is not as good tbh, but you can easily charge it (there is a cable and you can use the mouse while charging), or you can get a better battery.

I have G400 from Logitech (wired), paid about $70 and I'm loving it; had a wireless mouse ony once and hated it with passion
 
Screw that. Between IM and Gaming I normally wear a mouse out in a few months. I had a wireless mouse and it burned batteries like candles. I wore out a $150 Saitec illuminated keyboard in two years.

I go to Directron.com and buy a cheap logitec mouse and keyboard when they wear out now. I get both for about $50, but to me the mouse and keyboard are simply tools, I prefer function over form.

No way I'm shelling out $250 bucks for them.
 
I would get one of those trackball mouse really. If you working a lot they will save you from carpal tunnel. They are a bit more expensive...but after using them for a bit you will never go back to a regular mouse.
 
Wireless mouse is cool, i have use a Logitech model for over 3 years and it is still going strong. The battery life for my mouse is about 3-4months, which is good.

I have doubts about wireless keyboards, as they are really expensive and the keyboard stays in a relatively fixed position on the desk so the cables will not bother you.

So imo go only for the mouse.

This is the exact model I'm looking to buy for myself. It's a Logitech MX Performance.
Can you please be a little bit more specific about the battery life because this is what really interests me about this mouse. I read many different stories on other forums, with an average of 8 hours/day usage some say it lasts a few hours others say up to 2-3 month. It would really suck to have to charge it or switch batteries every 3 hours.
How many hours,days,weeks you use it between charges ?

c'mon dude we are in 21st century, I doubt any mouse will last only a couple of hours.
I use logitech wireless one for 15h/day, with duracell batteries I get 2 month for sure maybe even 3 months.
 
I love my wireless, that being said the last time the batteries died I plugged in my regular ones because I'm lazy, that was probably a solid 6 months ago. Its nice to watch TV on the computer from bed and use the mouse next to my drugs/drink on my nightstand instead of having to get up though.

Months? No way.

It lasts a week for me, Then I recharge, sometimes 3-5 days, and I use it often.

You can easily increase battery life by turning it off (below the mouse, by just pushing a button).
You can easily plug the USB cable you get, to the mouse to charge, and you can use it while it's charging (which is what I do).

It's quite a good mouse, fits the hand, it's perfect for me.

Battery life won't affect you a lot really, you may need to charge 1-2 times a week (it charges up fast), that's the only con about this mouse, everything else is perfect.

All my k/m have been Logitech's. Excellent products. Their new range uses very little battery, ie. good batteries will last for almost a year!

That's true but I don't worry about that as I only read good things about logitech regarding ergonomics and LukaB said the mouse fits very well in hand.

Yes, you're right, wireless kboards really are too expensive for what they are and it hurts me so bad to even think of paying more than $50 for one but I sometimes switch from the desk chair to the couch (which is a few feet behind the chair, facing the desk) and use the PC from there and right now I use two USB cable extensions for my mouse and keyboard to be able to drag them over to where the couch is. So on top of all the other cables I have around from headphones, speakers etc.(which I'm sure everyone does and noone misses cables & wires) when the mouse & keyboard cables are fully extended from the PC to the couch, the room looks almost like this
View attachment 22766 so I have to try to go the *wireless way* as much as possible before I get myself trapped in like in a spiderweb.

I guess you could say a better solution for me would be a laptop but for some reason I just don't like them, I like BIG screens.:)

If you like mobility, you better go for a laptop. I just bought a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop and it's just brilliant! Despite being a 15.x inch screen it has a pretty sick resolution 1920x1080pixels which is just about as a 22inch desktop screen, it doesn't get overheated so you can hold it on your knees without burning your feet, it's fast and has so many advantages over a desktop.

So bottom line ~$250 it's just sick to pay on a mouse and a keyboard, imho it's just not worth it.
