logging out of gmail effects serps drastically?

Hey, I've been extremely confident I've figured out this last algo, and I've started ranking for some HUGE keywords with this new method I'm using after I got demolished with the latest update.


Now i've come back extremely strong, and I've been proxy'ing in to different geo locations to check the dance serps.

On some of the servers it's showing a very steady ranking for some huge keywords of mine, BUT. When I LOG OUT of gmail, it goes back to previous serps from last week? I'll log in, and my serps are there again.

What's going on? I've tried logging in to a few different accounts and it does the same thing, how does google affect this?
My only guess is that some of the gmail's data are located on different servers and it's reflecting the serps from the geo location of that specific data center?

why the hell would I be kidding? I'll be proxy'd into chicago, see my rankings, then log out and they're gone.


Am I missing something that's very obvious?
Instead of sarcasm, maybe help me with an answer since I came online to ask. Thanks bud.
 
Have you heard about personalized searchs?

Use impersonal me - You can choose locations here.
 
I do hope OP is trolling.

If you're not, well as long as you are logged in to your google account, the SERPs you see are always biased based on your user profile and past browsing/search history.

You will only see "unbiased" serps when you are not logged in and have cleared your cookies.

On a side note, I'm not sure about how impotant/relevant "unbiased" serps tend to become anyway, because most users will have personalized serps based on their own profiles and history.
 
you are 1 year old member ... what the hell did you do in this time on bhw??? read only the lounge forum???
 
I like to use CMD + Shift + N as a combination for chrome before I do any search ;)

I have logged into MULTIPLE accounts, about 10. MANY of these accounts I've never used to SEARCH my keywords before OR view my sites from. I am logged in from RANDOM PROXIES and my cache is cleared. There's no PERSONALIZED search settings on about 6 of these gmail accounts.

Yeah, you probably should be clearer because you didn't say this at all "first time round".

But KEEP typing in CAPS to show your ANGER because I find it VERY entertaining.

More interesting: watch out for SERP to be automatically targeted for your IP's location whether or not you're logged in anywhere.

Local SEO is going to get very strange. It'll both be easier to find businesses in your area to attract as clients, and will make ranking for a keyword across the board much more difficult.
 
While logged in (Gmail or anything else "google") you will get huge "domain stuffing" as well as personalized results.
Doesn't matter whether you think they are "personalized" or not, the info you give google to set up a Gmail account is what they will use to personalize the results with.

If you have a gmail account - Google already know (or think they know if you have used fake info) at LEAST this much

Agreed - however
Long term this, however, will not work.

IP addresses will soon not be able to be geo targeted as there are not enough of them to go around, a "static" IP or a "geo locked" IP will become a vaguer and vaguer concept as they will all need to be shared by people online at that point in time, rather than reserved.
For instance, India uses 300,000,000 IP's, but during their night time less than 1/3 of those are activly transmitting or recieving data.
However the US has almost run out of IP's for all those who need them during peak times

The solution.... everyone has a temporary "one off allocation" IP from one "big pool"

Geo is also a clusterfeck for those who travel even moderate distances with mobile devices
Just because I'm travelling through a town 200 miles from my home to or from a meeting, i'm not interested in who the local plumbers are in that area or where my pet can get a grooming session.

This process might take 5 or even ten years to materialise, but it's on the way.
