I have a FB personal account which I've given current city as one in another country than where I live.

Suppose I add or message people from my own city or country, is it possible for them to find out where I am really located? I only use the web interface via PC on residential DSL without any proxy, no mobile.

thanks

The people you send messages to? No. They can only see the location you show on your profile.

Facebook? Yes, of course they can track your real location. Not exactly to your doorstep, but definitely in a ~30 km radius max.

Thanks for the info. Of course, FB keeps logs for years, I'm not bothered about them, its just the people I want to add friends or message should not find out.

Once someone found out my real location and said its a nice city where I live! I dont know how they did it, since nothing on my profile discloses it..Is it possible my real location may show up if the message recipient uses a mobile phone? I use only PC and web interface.

On fb they can track ur ip via messenger and on fb messenger they cant but not impossible to track so in both case they can track ur location via ip address so use proxy if u doing something

Are you talking about the messenger on the FB web interface? I dont think it shows IP or real location by default. Only if they send me a link with script and i click it (which I have not) can they get my ip. Also maybe by using TCP packet interception. These are only possible for advanced users. I'm just talking about casual people, can they see location easily somewhere on messenger?

Using proxy is the best, however a blacklisted proxy can get one banned easily unlike a residential IP, so I want to keep it as a last resort.

No other users are able to find out your actual location, but it was possible before, remember when someone sent you a private message it read "Sent from xxxxx"

Yes, that is what its supposed to be....though sometimes I think it may leak our actual location due to glitches in the FB messenger.
