Hi, how are you all doing. I was stalking the forum for couple of months now and got all kind of great and useful information, thanks. I didn't manage to find any info on localized sites and backlinking so i have couple of questions.

My site is in Croatian language, targeted for Croatia and i want to rank on google.hr for Croatia with that site. I understand that i have to do backlinking on localized, Croatian sites but would the site benefit if i throw in some links from English written sites with good PR, just the url because i don't think the keyword in anchor text would mean anything if the site i link on is in different language, am i correct or?

I am trying to outrank couple of sites (that hold first page on google.hr) with really bad backlinks, mostly spam links and couple of blog posts with little or no text on them, mostly links dumped all over, some links exchanged with similar sites and they have domain age of 3-4 years and mine is only 1 month old with some bookmarks, few of PR3-4 Croatian directories some blog posts but nothing special. How would you suggest that i go with linkbuilding? There's not that much sites in Cro with good PR, hell even with no PR that allow posting and have similarities with my site.

Yes, the links from English written sites will help. Also, using the url as your anchor text is a good idea. Mix that up with the Croatian sites and you should be fine.

Sounds like you already have a good idea of what you need to do.

I'll build some links over few months and buy a service here, that should help. Thanks guys

edit:

When i google keyword+blog i got mix cro and english sites, looks like google is translating my keyword and giving back result on cro and english sites. Would it be safe to assume that it will do the same if i anchor a keyword?

I'm extremely new to this, would love to get my sports blog moving in the right direction, if anyone has any clues/threads that would help me start from scratch with a blog that has over 170 posts, that would be very appreciated!

- Try to register expired Croatian websites with high DA/PA/CF/TF etc.. Put some related content on them to yours and here you have strong links from CR site. Surely there is a way to drop-catch CR domains.
- Also, you can register free Croatian blogs web2.0s (like blogger.cr or similar) and do the same as above. Just make the content relevant to your money site.
- You can add social media links, just post all your posts to every social media sites you can (twitter, fb,g+ etc..)

I actually do quite similar in an other foreign country and it's working fine. I think you better have links from Croatian content than from English. It may still work now, but what if G changes it's algo and will figure out that the site/article is completely irrelevant to yours thus consider it as spam?

yeah you are right. I already do social media, and started to do web 2.0. Thanks for the info guys.

You can use English sites and post translated content. That would help too.
