Local TLD not ranking for main kw?

Hi everyone,

I have a local TLD that i just created recently, around 1 month old. I optimized my homepage for main kw. Totaitl word count around 2800+. main kw density is 1.38%.

So when i just uploaded my content and after its indexed, the kw pos is @ 168 & 144 for 1st & 2nd day (I am using https://www.serplab.co.uk to track the kw). However, after that, my kw suddenly disappeared and never ranked again until today..
Some other kws for other pages are ranking around 60-70+

Can anyone advice me why is my main kw on my homepage not ranking? Appreciate your help guys.

Are you targeting the UK? Have you changed the GEO Target in Webmaster tools? I recommend doing this first before you do anything else. Too many factors to consider without more information. If it is a new site, sometimes I have found that the homepage is last to rank. Inner pages rank first. Weird I know.

My guess: you've used your main keyword in most of your anchors while building links, and you now have an over-optimization penalty for that keyword...

The good news is that, if I'm right, all you need to do is build more links with other anchors and slowly outweigh the exact-match anchors, and the over-op penalty, being an algorithmic penalty, will resolve itself.

Alternatively - and this might be faster - de-index your current domain, buy a new domain, recycle the content, and start again, and don't make the same mistake this time.

hmm 1 month seems like along time for it to only be a google dance. Maybe there was a penalty there

My website have changed to GEO target in webmaster tools already.

Hi Tony, previously i have a brandname.com domain which seems to be penalized for main kw. Thus, i create a brandname local TLD with new contents. But after 2 days (mentioned in thread), the kw stopped ranking.. For this new domain, i didn't build any links in it, except social medias links. Furthermore, all links i build are all naked or branded.

In some point of time, i actually changed my local google business url from brandname.com to new domain(brandname local TLD). There is nothing wrong with this right? as i am worry that my previous domain may be penalized and this result in my new domain linked to google business to be penalized as well?

Do you know why my new domain is not ranking?

It's possible that linking the two sites together (by way of changing the URL in the local listing) has probably transferred the penalty over...

Omg... so what am i supposed to do now??? hais... now my main kw is not ranking at all even after few weeks alr.. Should i remove it from my google local listing??

First: I said 'it's possible'... meaning I don't know for sure, just thinking out loud.

Second: Regardless of whether that's the cause or not, you appear to have some type of penalty that has flowed across to the new domain... so starting again, after deindexing the old content, is probably not a bad idea in any case. Just don't do anything to connect the new domain with the two burnt domains...

No where near enough info for nothing but a guess, go to majestic, the free version will give what is needed. Post your trust\citation flow numbers, number of links and number of ref domains and summarise your anchor text e.g raw url, keyword 1 , keyword 2 etc. The homepage not showing is normal for a new site. If you are building links, which I tend not to do for the first month, what velocity are you doing these at (how many a day basically) type of backlinks getting built e.g good quality household directories or crap links. Without this basic information (and we're not eben looking at onsite) everyones can only guess so give people something more solid to base the guess on. If you have 2 previous domains with penalties, you're not learning your lesson, it's as simple as that.

I think is to soon to tell, For the local TLD's that I use I see a lot nonsense movement for the first 2 months, then on the 3rd I start putting links, I think you should wait I little more time.

I tried all backlinks checker [ahrefs, majestic, site explorer (moz)]. But currently, all do not have any records in it.

For backlinks, i didn't build any links except social medias (fb, twitter, hotfrog), just a few only... It shld be because it is also quite new, around 1 month old only. But idk why my homepage is not ranking anymore (except first 2 day). But other inner page is ranking (around 50- 100).

As you haven't done any linkbuilding, there is no possibility for those type of penalty. You have to keep building the social media like fb, twitter, g+, etc with some quality links to get back the homepage ranking for the main keywords.

Idk why no one is saying this, but I typically don't see my main keyword rank in the top 300 on a fresh domain for at least a few weeks. After that I could be as far up as 20 or 30, but unless you're pushing a ton of links at it I wouldn't expect it to rank that quickly.

Just make sure the page is actually indexed by doing site: url.com into google.

So since i have no real backlinks build yet. Should i build my own backlinks in few months time? Or is this domain penalized due to the possibly of connecting new domain with google local business where old domain seems to be sandboxed ?

The site wont rank for an sort of competitive term without links, even low competition local terms have some links pointing to them.

If you do site:youdomain do you see your home page in the list?

If you do then it is a case of more time and some links to get you ranking. If not then it is possible you have a penalty, do you have access to GWT (Google console) that will tell you if you have a manual penalty.
