Hey I am looking to do the rank a site for a particular niche + city and then rent out a listing on that site to business's in that niche. Im not the best at SEO and want to outsource the ranking part but am having trouble trying to find the best service/BST. So was just wondering if anyone knew and services which would be able to provide ranking for local websites?

Also if this is in the wrong forum let me know and I will move it.

To rank for local pages/directories you need citation. PM me with the site, cities you want to rank on and if possible quote. You can add me on SKYPE for discussion later today or tomorrow but I would be able to answer your PMs promptly.

I do local SEO, but my plans range from $600-$1200 (dependent upon niche) per month. This is usually out of most BHW member's budgets. Feel free to hit me up on Skype and I can at least point you in the right direction.

Our firm does a fair amount of Local SEO. In fact here is an image of a client's KWs in our ranking tracker.

I would steer clear of any SEO services on BST, unless you want rankings to last for a short period of time.

The only thing is (from what I understand) for local citations don't you need an address, telephone number etc? For my website I will be ranking the website with say for example "Hair dresser + City" and then once that website is ranking, sell listing spots on it.

so just to clarify I wont be ranking client sites, only my own.

    This isn't that hard.

Citations are mentions of your business name and bricks and mortar addresses on google trusted sites. The more the better.

Set yourself up a spreadsheet and reverse engineer all the backlinks of the top 5 in any given niche. Dig out any that look like citation sites, some will be obvious like Yelp or yell.com.

Once you have that list then make sure you also get citations on those sites for the business you are looking to rank. Ensure the name, address, phone no website email ect is entered exactly the same on each site, this is vitally important as you want google to know is is the business it says it is. Basically the more citations the better your chances.

Some work will also be needed on the onpage seo. For the hairdresser example above you need to think of kw which will go with hairdresser/city cheap, mens, ladies are a few, one maybe even stylish? (this isn't my field) and intelligently add them to the page or meta's. Don't over do it so it looks spammy (mind you kw stuffing seems to be working quite well at the moment in some niches but I still wouldn't advise it).

Finally reviews will also help so if current customers already have google accounts ask them if they would be kind enough to review your service.

Finally don't expect results overnight, if you do do this right it will be several Months before you notice.

In the meantime look to develop other ways of marketing your business. Although a place in the 5 or 7 pack is great it won't be the be all or end all for the hairdressing niche. Most people looking for one will do so on recommendation, yellow pages or adverts in a paper. Few will search the www. Even free adverts cards in Tesco/Wallmart depending on which side of the pond you are. I would think leaflet drops (local area) coupled with some sort of promotional offer would also work well in building customer base.

After re-reading this again what you seek is practically impossible.

You need to associate a physical real bricks and mortar address before google will even touch it. Local SEO refers to the google pack of local results for any given local term. Hotel New York for example would be a tough one.
Once you have this you will not be able to change the name/address of the business on it. Google would need re-verification and would trash the ranking in the meantime.

Either be a hairdresser or work in SEO not a great idea to be doing both.

My company has been specializing in local SEO for over 6 years. I can build google maps with no address needed and rank listings in the top 3 in any industry in under 2 weeks. My rates are reasonable and leave room to resell. Send me a message on skype at UrbanAndrew if you are interested in discussing your project.

    2 different things.

    Listings in the organic serps.
Listings in the google map pack
    Listings page 1 in both.

    Different tactics for each discipline.

I have worked with bricks and mortar businesses for years and whilst a few years ago it used to be possible to register a business without a physical address it is almost impossible today. Part of the registration process would involve them sending a postcard by overland mail to the physical address with a pin number to be entered on the page to verify the listing.
Change any part of that listing, name address, phone number and the verification process starts all over again.

If you decide to hire one of the fine posters offering their services in this thread do your due diligence very carefully.

Now that would really depend on the company wouldn't it meaning labeling the whole BST as a churn and burn
marketplace is not fair to sellers who offer steady rankings.
