Have been using PBN for my affiliate sites, but never on local business site before. Anyone using PBN to rank their local business site? How well does it go to rank for local seo? Thanks in advance for all inputs.

It works like gangbusters. PBN's will rank almost anything if they are done right. It is a purely back hat method though, and not suitable for legitimate SEO.

The problem is that when google spots your PBN, it will probably de-index your sites that use it. At the very Least, it will be hit with a 50 spot penalty.

Whjen his happens you customer will see his site disappear, and if he findous out that you blackhatted the SEO, he could sue.

There is no reason to do this, especially with the Local algo available.

Thanks. Well, asking this actually wanted to help a friend of mine ranking his photo course biz to page 1(currently page 3). As you know photography website does not have much content really on the website. If in another approach, lets say I link from PBNs to my site and then 301 redirect to my friend's site, do you think his site will get penalty too?

A site with a photo course is hardly a local business site. If his site were a local photographers site that includes a course, that would be different.

There is no search term related to courses that I can think of that will trigger the local algorithm except driver training, and maybe a handgun owners course.

If his site is a course, treat it like a global IM entity.

If a photo site does not have much written content, the person building the site does not know what they are doing.

The problem with most photography sites is that they are in flash. Beautiful but invisible.

    Regarding your question:

If you point your PBN's at anything and then link that anything to his site, it will pass both good and bad.

I do not know if a redirect would kill the destination site in case a PBN were spotted, my gut tells me that it would because after all, you have control of that site.

If you used a buffer site and simply linked to your site, then the penalty (it would seem) would hit the buffer site , and travel down the link.

You have a certain amount of reasonable deniability regarding your ownership of the buffer.

I use PBN plus other blackhat links on my churn and burn sites on local sites for lead generation. Doesn't last long but I can rank top 3 pretty easily in a big city.

I specialise in local lead generation for bathroom renovators and all i can say without my PBN i would be making no money. I don't need many links from my PBN just enough but I also include links from high authority local and niche directories to diversify.

Of course PBN work. For local, use not only niche sites, but also local oriented sites in your PBN.

PBN's work awesome for local seo. I use them on all of my clients sites and pretty much every client is dominating their local niche. I also use the strategies in Paul James Maps Mentor course to get my clients ranked in the top of the Google Business Listings. I highly recommend that course. You can probably find it on here blackhat somewhere.

Private blog networks are blackhat. Google kills sites that use blackhat techniques when they catch them. Since PBN's are all the rage in blackhat forums, Google is actively trying to out them.

If you use a PBN for a customer, and It gets found out, that customer will get his site deindexed, and sue you for not using approved SEO practices and banning his site.

If you do it for your own churn and burn sites, great, but using a PBN on a customers site will open you up to HUGE liability if you fuck it up, and unless you are very knowledgeable, you will fuck it up.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PRIVATE BLOG NETWORK IF THEY ARE ADVERTISING IT ONLINE (it is then a Public Blog Network), and most people will never build one right even if they had specific instructions to follow because people are lazy and take shortcuts..

PBNs will rank anything, until it gets the site banned.

Generally speaking, getting a client's site banned is a bad thing.

Whenever most people hear about PBN they generalize the term for both private and public blog network.

PBN is mainly known as private network while blog network is a publicly shared one.

Public blog network is usually shared with lots and lots of people, far cheaper and report provided.
Google is most likely to catch up with networks like these because it's too expose.
Fiverr, BMR like kind of service account for these of networks.

While Private blog network is setup mainly for you or shared within similar niche/market
with little OBL. In most cases, report are not issued only ranking guarantees or rather massive
SERP movement upwards. It's very pricey and not within the reach of most people.
The hosting is never an SEO host, every single site is hosted differently and independently.
It's predominantly safer and works better due to low OBL.

Now that you know the difference between private and public blog network, always make your inquiry before using one.

In regards to your answer, i would use Private Blog Network for local SEO because it's safer and works like everyone said here.
Just had to shed the light to clear up the misconceptions.

    Good luck..

what would you consider as a danger PBN?
    and ill give an example:
if im using a 5-10 PBN, which all goes in the same host but with different C class and link to my websites (local market) which have good amount of citations and reviews.
do i put my website in danger? does 5-10 can make raise a red flag?

The safety of your PBN and money site is tied to how you set up your networks.

10 PBN is no big deal if they are all hosted on different hosting and IPs.

This doesn't mean that you can't use one hosting company over and over again
but it's wise to have a large number of hosting companies that you rotate your PBN on.

The reason is, some companies offer shared hosting and your PBN could get picked up in the same IP
which is a bad business for you. You either get a dedicated hosting or space the intervals you buy same
    hosting service.

Depends upon PBN quality will rank local business website. My personal experience PBN (Medium Quality: 15+ 28+ combination) works perfect for me.
