Hi all

Im working with a used car dealer on a local seo campaign.

They use a whitelabel car dealer cms, as thats who has built their site.

In my time working with them ive got them ranking 1st for van terms, but their big area is used cars.

They were not ranking in top 30 map pack before i started working with them and are now between ranking 12-16 for tracked terms.

They have 300+ reviews (4.5 star) in comparison their competitors have less than 10.

I have optimised pages for car dealer + location and then brand of car + location.

Ive built 25 citations via Bright Local and optimised their onsite.

The vans have done well and whilst the cars have improved theyre just not moving any further up.

Im most confused about the competitors having far less reviews and much less content on their site. All competitors are located very close to the client.

Ive added additional categories on GMB

Just not sure what else could be causing the lack of progress on the car side of things comapred to the vans.

Any general areas to check?

I mean, it could be a lot of things

Where are you searching from? What does your geo grid look like? That'll give you a lot of info. How close are you to the center of the city, or to the searchers that you're targeting?

25 citations isn't much. We do at least 100 for each location.

How do you know the onpage and offpage has been optimized? Have you run any Page Optimizer Pro or Cora reports?

CTR matters a whole bunch, perhaps your competitors are beating you there.

Are you sure the categories are 100% relevant? Are you competitors using the same categories?

What else have you done to the GBP?

Without looking at your site and GBP and your competitors it's going to be really hard to give any concrete advice.

Hello, if you would like some free advice on ranking your car dealership, send me your email and I send you a great solution. Good luck!

Look into reviews mentioning "car dealer" related terms and backlinks. Ensure also citations, i.e. website mentions + keyword not just directory mentions are present.

Another thing to consider is photographs + posts. Ensure that the business you're optimising has lots of these.
