[Local SEO] ranking in multiple cities with single page

i see that most people rank a different page for each different city for the same business. For example they have one page for "plumbers los angeles" and another page for "plumbers santa monica"

This seems like way more work in terms of content and link-building. How difficult would it be to rank in the local results for multiple cities with just the homepage? (if you have only one location). And why would you build multiple pages?

your looking at it wrong way

the main page is niche exsplained like plumers big articles with images and video .

the inner pages are specefic seo for local areas like you said.


what the reason money.

leads = money

dont have to have the business to make the money , you can be the man that pass the business on and get money from leads..

man i think you don't understand english. I ask WHY can't the main page rank for every city instead of inner pages.

it can if you no how and want a huge page .

if you beat your compitition any page will win.

it how you do the seo work

you can put all internal pages as one page but it the readers that dont like it why it divided up.

what you saying is classed as a blog .

a blog is a 1 page article but can have mutipule articles and also be keyword seo.

you need to understand seo to be able to get first page shown from all keywords.

trust me i am a Londoner but got no eyes so typing is hard for me sorry .

People do this often because they want a specific page optimized for the KWs they trying to rank for and implementing onpage SEO Factors for each specific KWs .

You wouldn’t want to have all your text on HomePage as all might seem difficult to organize & Optimize for all KWs that you want to rank for.

You honestly want a nice user experience — So you wouldn’t make it herculean by having more than 2k+ words on homepage.

Are you serious about this ? Do you have some sorta tools to open new threads for you and read the texts out ?

I’m sorry about your predicament.
 
Because people want to buy services from local people and companies, they want to feel "connected" to and valued by the company they use, especially if something goes wrong..

So one big page covering everywhere makes them seem disconnected.

Whereas if you have a page for each location you can tailor the page and make it seem like you are a local company, thereby getting more leads than a big nationwide company where the customer will just be another number in the system.

I've done this for a local company and he's killing it.
