I have a few clients I am setting up local SEO programs for. I was wondering if any had and input of my systrm before I set it in full swing. What I am doing is I purchased a domain and am making a sub domain for each clients local website. I build a seperate site with all local key worded pages and thren im going to backlink em.

My major concerne is sub domaina over ranking regular domains in the SERPS. Any one try anything similar?

That's an OH SHIT moment waiting to happen...

Don't group all your clients on one TL domain

Buy an EMD for each client that matches their main keyword.

If they have different keyword categories, buy EMD for largest keyword, then making landing pages or more EMDs for the other keywords.


The one thing I've learned from years of local seo is to NEVER rely on just one site for my clients.
 
So, you're building a "local directory" or similar site and just making a page for each client?

Risky move, if the domain takes a hit, all your clients are at risk for going under.
 
As noted above having all your clients under one TLD will eventually come back to bite you in the a$$.

The same rule applies for clients with multiple locations, each should have it's own TLD--better for ranking each location too.

I thought google counted a sub domain as a separate entity? Im making a separate sub domain with a completely fresh wordpress install. Kind of like a mini-site with all pages built around their key words. Like the main page would be lets say plumbers in pennsylvania, then each sub page would break down into the service location keyword. Wrong approach? I'm trying to keep control of all local ranked pages in-case they stop paying which is why they aren't on the actual sites domain. Would you suggest just buying a domain I control and building the minisite on that .com?

Use separate domains.

If they stop paying, find another client in same industry.
 
What tool do you guys suggest for light backlinking of local sites? I was looking at GSA not sure which way to go. I think Senuke is overkill for what I need here. Any ideas?

Depending on your location market, a couple HIGH PR Do-Follow links and weekly web 2.0s should do the trick

I personally use senuke
 
I am trying to find a contractor to help with my local search SEO in Australia. I have 6 different location I want to target. Previous Odesk consultant was a bust. We did citations etc and I am still not getting results for local search. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. R
