Hello guys , 1st of all if this isn't the right section please move the thread.

I've been brainstorming lately and i came up with some genius ideas . For the past 4 years of me doing IM i've been focusing on US/UK/AU traffic , never something else. But i was thinking , and i remember 5 years ago when ranking a website was a piece of cake and the competition was very very low and i regret not profiting big time from it , Well in my country (Tunisia , with Arabic being my native language) there is absolutely 0 Competition for www.google.tn (TN For Tunisia) and this is the time to be among the 1st ones to Do IM . I was wondering how can i target only the Google.tn Servers, how can i rank my website for Tunisian traffic because there is no competition , all the Big Niches are Untapped , i know Arabic so language wont be a problem.

My question is : how can i make a website that ranks locally , any Tips/Tricks apart from buying a .TN Domain Name And a Local Server ?

PS:I'm planning to do this with France too , the competition is still unsaturated and my French is very good ( 2nd Language , English is my 3rd Spoken/Read/Written Language).

Thanks in advance guys :).

I dont think backlinks can be targetted for localized domains like google.co.uk or .tn or .co.in.

What you can do is to target local keywords like including locality names in keyword and try to build links on same language + english also..

As in my experience i never saw or read abt targeting local domains... Those domains mainly includes results from your locality.. so if u target local keywords you can easily hit on it..

Just buy a country TLD and if needed set your language preferences to French-FR or French-TN or whatever French you use and continue from there.

try to get backlinks from related local sites in terms of blog commenting. Also, you can utilize local directories and get citations as well.

Just buy a country TLD and if needed set your language preferences to French-FR or French-TN or whatever French you use and continue from there.

By all means, follow these two advices.

Another great thing to hint at google that you're based in Tunisia is to add your <address> tag on your webpage (either home page, contact us, or all pages in footer).
Google values semantic code alot, and placing your tunisian address inside an <address> tag will add to your .TN local score.

Thanks alot guys for the very valuable information , i really appreciate it , this is great info , hope it helps inspiring other fellow BHW members :D I'm going to implement these tips right away :) You guys are the best .
