hello I am looking for services you would recommend on how to promote my local clothing store in the area it is in. i just opened a new one and have made a IG, FB, and added it to Google Maps but need some services to promote it to ppl.. any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

1) Fill out everything in the GBP, including photos
2) Full website with good content, that is structured correctly (find popular competitors ranking high and see how their site structure is)
3) Feed the algorithms what they want - Social media = short form video, GBP = photos with some offer probably?
4) Look into some of the services in the marketplace for local SEO to give yourself a boost.

I think running ads on Facebook will also help your page reach more customers. I just joined the market and am gradually seeing positive signs.

Along with social media and Google Maps, focus on hyperlocal SEO — optimize for 'near me' searches, collect reviews, and post regular updates on your GBP. Running small geo-targeted FB + IG ads can drive immediate foot traffic while your organic SEO builds up.

Search for instagram handles for your city and collab with them.

Run local FB/IG ads, use Google Maps posts, partner with nearby businesses, and push promos or events. Flyers, local influencers, and short TikTok reels can also drive foot traffic.

I ran a small giveaway on IG with a location tag and got more foot traffic than expected

This is a fantastic topic. The initial digital setup you've done is a great start. For a local retail store, the biggest needle-mover is often leveraging your Google Business Profile to its full potential.
Beyond just adding your store to Google Maps, you should be actively optimizing it. Post regular updates about new arrivals or promotions using the Google Posts feature. Encourage every single customer to leave a review and make sure you respond to both positive and negative feedback. Also, add high-quality photos and videos of your store's interior and products. A fully optimized and active Google Business Profile often drives more foot traffic than many paid ad campaigns, as it's the first thing local people see when they search for clothing stores nearby. What's your strategy for getting those first few reviews?

Thank you for the in depth response! I have a QR code at the counter that I've asked customers that have come in to leave a review and I know at least a few have done it right in front of me but for some reason it has not posted to Google. No idea why

There may be a delay due to moderation, or Google may have automatically filtered out reviews if they were left at the same time in one place
